Read More perfect part-time solution, especially since they moved to a virtual setting instead of in-person in New York (I live in Florida). Doing this course while also working full-time was one of the toughest things I've ever done, but it was all worth it and so rewarding. By the end of the program, I learned more than I ever thought I could in such a short amount of time and I had a portfolio piece showcasing my work for a REAL client! If you're considering attending Beginex, it's important to know that their course is very rigorous and will take up most of your free time. You truly must be committed and dedicated to make it through with the skills and portfolio piece you need to land a job. You also need to do a lot of your own studying outside of the course to complete your assignments and improve the product you're working on. What's more, you work on a team with other students, so it's important that you work well with others and are willing to compromise. If you're looking for a course that provides hand-holding, this is not the course for you. You are expected to step-up and work with your team to figure a lot out by yourselves. You won't be completely alone though, there are mentors who are also there to support you with invaluable advice, as well as comprehensive lessons given by the Head Instructor. I ended up landing a great job with Dell a little over a month after I graduated! I would have never been able to do that without Beginex. Now I am working in a position I love and I'm a part of the amazing Beginex alumni community!

The program is very focused on setting you up with a great portfolio and the right processes to help you land a job. Networking is another highlight, the program mentors come from large companies and have many years of experience. And they are always glad to help you with any questions! In my personal experience, I was able to land a job through networking and working on the project from the program. I would 100% recommend the program to those who are ready to take theory into reality.

Read More The program was well organized and their mentors are industry professionals that are super helpful, and provided so much insight. I can't stress enough how wonderful the mentors are, they take the time to work with your team and answer all your questions. As well and being connected to work directly with clients on projects. For our group we were in the midst of Covid and we seamlessly went into remote work during the final stages of the program. There was no issue at all. I made lasting friendships and be apart of an amazing community, everyone is positive and supportive of each other. I will say you will need to have knowledge of UX Design, because once you begin working with the clients the work is intense and fast. Be open to work with others, take feed-back and learn. It's real experience of what you'll be doing in the industry. At the end of the program I was confident to create my portfolio and understand what industry professional look for in a portfolio. To me this was crucial for my needs.

Read More I learned about Beginex from one of our guest instructors who had used it himself to transition into UX Design. It sounded like a great program since it paired you with a real client as well as mentors who work in the field to help guide you and your team through every step of the UX Research and Design process. It turned out to be exactly what the guest instructor had said it would be and gave me a stellar portfolio piece that helped me get my current job within a month of finishing the program. The program worked so well in part because the client and mentors were required to attend class every week, which meant that we had critical facetime with them all. After the project was completed we also received guidance on building an effective portfolio, resume writing, and interviewing, as well as coaching and practice on design challenges. The mentors were really amazing. A couple of them even spent time outside of class to help me with my resume and portfolio. After the course ends you have access to virtual career support from mentors as well as the opportunity to work on another client project with 2-3 classmates if you need an additional portfolio piece. Overall it's a really amazing course, especially for the price. I would definitely recommend it to anyone trying to transition into UX Research or Design.

I found Beginex after I had already taken an online UX design course. I had one project under my belt and felt like I understand the concepts, but I didn’t feel like my portfolio had nearly enough substance or polish to start applying for UX design jobs.... Read More Beginex was the perfect solution. I needed a project with a real client and an opportunity to build my portfolio under the guidance of seasoned designers. In Beginex I met a wonderful group of people – some of whom I am still friends with today. We worked with a real client and got to interview customers and potential clients. I was told from the beginning that you get out of the program what you put into it. That turned out to be exactly true. I learned how to handle each step of the UX design process, from initial research to wireframing and prototyping, as well as how to make a professional design presentation and work with a real client. In addition to that, we were guided through how to build an effective portfolio for the job we wanted. It was a challenge to do design challenges in front of mentors and guests, but ended up paying off. Before the program was even over, I was hired as a UX designer and have now risen up in the ranks to become a product manager at a small tech startup. Overall, Beginex was a great experience and introduced me to a group of awesome designers and mentors.

I didn't have a portfolio, but Beginex assured me that they'd help me get to 3 case studies by the time I finished the course. I was really glad that I had prepped before, as Beginex dives right in and expects a certain level of background knowledge. I was partnered with an amazing group of people and we all became friends instantly! While in the program, I worked with countless mentors and experts and the client we worked with had a really exciting project for us. It was really important to me to work with a real client--which was something not many other bootcamps offer. I enjoyed the weekly meetings and while it wasn't the easiest to balance my full time job and the course load, I was always excited to work on my Beginex work, which made it worth it. The program taught me to think critically and really focus on the user--they also helped me build up my portfolio. After graduation, I received a job offer one month later. I couldn't recommend this program more, but it is important to consider that it is a lot of work and will require a significant amount of time. That being said, I had so much fun completing the program, I couldn't believe it was already time to graduate!

I learned a lot from working closely with the business owner, understanding his vision and product strategy. Also thanks to the resources he provided, I got access to many quality users to conduct interviews and gather insights. I also found the collaboration with other team members very valuable. They provided me constructive feedback from different perspectives. The experience definitely boosted my confidence in this competitive field, expanded my professional network, and empowered me as a better designer.

Before Beginex, I was a print graphic designer looking to transition into UX design. Read More that by having you work on a real project for a real company, meeting with the company’s stakeholder weekly along with 3 UX mentors to advise the teams on the project. It’s great because you can put the project company on your resume as a contract job. I liked that the cohort was small — only 12 of us divided into 3 teams of 4, with each team working on a different aspect of the project. I got to practice what I’ve learned about UX, and each week is a step in the UX process — sketching, user interviewing, wireframing, testing the low fidelity prototype, making adjustments then presenting to stakeholders. Plus, the last couple of weeks involve preparing your resume and portfolio website. After completion, Beginex also connected me and 3 classmates to work on another project for another company for a few weeks. This enabled me to have another portfolio project. After completion, everyone can continue with virtual career support from mentors. It took a while to get a UX job (a year and a half, however, I was able to move from print to web design (UI) in between, and later the pandemic lessened job opportunities).

Real clients and expert advice from seasoned professionals in the field made this program extraordinarily worth while.
