This program teaches important Data Science Concepts together with full stack development utilizing Python as the programming language. Course Description:

Our program will teach you FinTech, or, Financial Technology so that you can build financial applications by the end of the program. You may focus on areas such as blockchain, payments, lending, roboadvisory and more. Our full-time program offers a job guarantee for eligible individuals.

The first phase of the program will make sure your coding skills are sharp by teaching you our time-tested Python full-stack development curriculum. Then, we'll enhance your FinTech industry knowledge and its technical tools in order to have a better framework to decide which area(s) of FinTech you will address via your extensive project work.

Areas of FinTech we’ll cover on a conceptual and technical level include lending, payments, cryptocurrency/blockchain, KYC, insurance (InsurTech), robo advisory, regulatory tech (RegTech) and more. We’ll also introduce you to some popular platforms and widely used APIs in the industry.

Additionally, we’ll help you understand the data science concepts that are being used by FinTech companies so that you can apply these to your project work. Topics include: Pandas data analysis, machine learning and sentiment analysis, time series regression, overview of algorithms and statistics used in Quant Trading.

All students will build a portfolio of projects to showcase to potential employers. Some students choose to do their projects for real FinTech companies. Many choose a blockchain focus as part of the program.

Course Description:

This online course will provide an introduction to quantitative algorithms for beginners. It will also provide the necessary background to ramp up for our more intensive Quant Algos course created in partnership with a leading stats-arb fund.

In an Intro to Quant-Algos we will cover basic concepts of formulating an algorithm, and touch upon model fit analysis by walking through an example algorithm. We will also walk through the basics of the Pandas python library which will form the basis of all coding done in this class. Other topics include:

- Introduction to pandas
- Integration, Cointegration, and Stationarity
- Introduction to Pairs Trading
- Example: Basic Pairs Trading Algorithm
- The Dangers of Model Overfitting
- The course will be led by our lead FinTech instructor who is also a veteran Wall Street technologist with years of experience at top-tier investment banks.

During the course, students will learn an introduction to Software Engineering in the Python Programming Language including variables, data structures and more; Fundamentals of Writing Software and System Operation including working in Linux, MacOS or Windows; Git, Github and Best Practices; Computer Science including introduction to algorithms and “Big O” notation.

No pre-requisites are required, and provided you pass the final assessment, the Foundation Course cost would apply towards tuition of the full-time course.

With Python Foundation you will learn the fundamentals of Python, the highest paid coding language for recent bootcamp grads.* Course meets two evenings per week. No pre-requisites are required. If you want to continue learning, you will have the skillset to begin our Python Fullstack, FinTech or Blockchain bootcamps and will not need to complete the mandatory pre-work. This is provided you pass the final assessment. Also, the Foundation Course cost would apply to tuition.

Our course teaches languages, frameworks, and computer science fundamentals that you need to land a career in web development . The curriculum places heavy emphasis on teamwork, peer programming, and projects to showcase to employers. Career services, such as instruction in public speaking, resume review, self branding and hiring events are woven into the program and provided for life. Learn Quant-Algos in the evenings 2x per week with our course created in partnership with a leading statistics – arb hedge fund. We’ll help you understand core statistical concepts and develop the tools to apply to data analysis and model time series for any industry. Classes will emphasize model creation and validation along with theoretical skills and statistical modeling interference.

This course will help you learn and utilize Python’s advanced data libraries including pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, and more. We’ll also delve into statistical topics such as summary statistics, regression, time series, hypothesis testing, and much more. Main areas that we will cover include:

Quant applications to other fields - For those who choose a finance industry focus, we will draw upon Byte’s leading FinTech curriculum and community. Education on algorithms, a focus of the course, will be geared towards investments. We’ll prime you and connect you with our network for a career at a bank, hedge fund and/or other company that you seek out. Top finance firms are constantly looking for new mathematical talent.

Prerequisites: Some programming experience and experience in statistics or math, model validation, and design in any field. There will be an assessment in order to enroll in the course.
