They provide you with the knowledge, tools, and skills you need to be successful in this industry. Not only do they teach you how to program, they also teach you how to write your resume, interview, and network. I graduated from their JavaScript track in June 2021 and landed a tech job 4 months later. Most of my classmates have jobs now too. It's really a life changing experience! You're going to get out of it what you put into it, so just keep that in mind. It's not just about getting the certificate, it's about putting in the work to learn the skills you need to be successful in this industry. If you fully commit to learning the course material and you keep practicing you will absolutely find success and be able to break into tech. It's hard but absolutely worth it in the end! If you’re overwhelmed, they hear you. If you have a different way of learning, just ask and they’ll accommodate you. Honestly, you cannot go wrong attending Code Fellows, you just can’t.

I gained a lot of knowledge on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in just one month with Code Fellows. Prior to attending Code Fellows, I had absolutely NO coding experience. I had no idea what HTML and CSS were; and when I looked at even the names of coding languages, I saw alphabet soup and was extremely overwhelmed with the immense amount of information... I did quite a bit of research during my own search for a bootcamp: price, curriculum, course length, professionalism of the staff, reviews, job placement support, inclusivity, and the statistics of graduates getting jobs. I didn't make my choice lightly, and I am SO glad I chose Code Fellows. From starting Code 101 back in Jan, to completing Java 401 in May; I have had such an amazing experience! The instructors are incredible, the curriculum is relevant and constantly evolving to adapt to an ever changing tech-world, and the course-load is extremely streamlined. I truly feel that I received a top-notch education with absolutely no reservations that I would do it all over again if I had to. Not only do I now know what HTML and CSS are, but I am officially a Java/Android Developer! With an app on the Google PlayStore!! As a full-time online student, it's been five long months of very intense course-work, long days, and many, many hours of coding; but I took it seriously, and it has all payed-off in so many ways! Code Fellows is an awesome coding bootcamp! Even though everything is online right now, you still have an instructor in real-time that you can interact with and ask questions, you go to lunch and then come back to a place where students congregate (like... Read More a study hall but online) with their class to work on projects. You can turn on your camera or microphone and speak with the students at your table to help each other on a project or you can work quietly. The teacher's assistants sit on that "floor" and are ready to help you should you get stuck. They teach you industry leading interviewing techniques which is quite different from what you get from a traditional college. They offer full-time day instruction (days) and a part-time nightly instruction for those that are working. Also, last but most certainly not least, tutoring is offered (for a fee) through the school. They will match you up with someone working in the field who went through their program and may or may not have been an instructor (in other words, they were either an excellent student or an instructor for Code Fellows) but, what is so helpful is that they understand what it is you are working on and what they should or should not be teaching you for the particular class you are in. I requested a tutor and was paired with someone who went through the program and was also an instructor for the school. He is helping me iron out some issues that I want to be better at, such as debugging and to keep my code "dry". The school teaches in blocks so, you have 201 (foundations), 301 (more advanced), and the 401 (focus on 1 particular language and master it). Coding 201 and 301 are each 4 weeks long with about a 7 - 10 day break between classes (if you choose to go right on to the next course). Coding 401 is for 10 weeks and in a language of your choosing from what they are offering (this changes according to what leaders in the industry are looking for). I chose this school because of someone who went through it before me and who is now working at Microsoft. They gave Code Fellows a glowing review and I can see why! I am living it, enjoying it, and could not be happier with my choice in bootcamps!

The level of instruction and support Code Fellows offers is un-matched in anything I have seen before. The instructors, TA’s and Students are amongst some of the most inclusive people I have been around. I have been in class with everyone from Helicopter Pilots to Hairdressers and everyone has been great! After 6 months I have made lifelong friends and look forward to the next chapter.

Deciding to pursue my interest in software development at nearly 40 years old after working in the arts for over twenty years was terrifying. But after my journey through Code Fellows, I can say with confidence that I'm prepared both technically and culturally.... Read More I'm leaving these courses with not only the skills to competently program in my chosen language, but also a deeper understanding of the logic, and the agility to quickly learn new languages and tools. Along with feeling technically sound, the career preparation curriculum has left me feeling ready to face this new unknown industry. I feel comfortable and prepared for interviews, both technical and behavioral. I also feel prepared to be a viable, adaptive, member of a development team. It is a huge commitment and takes some grit to get through but the Code Fellows community is extremely supportive and truly cares about providing the best learning environment and curriculum focused on current tech trends and industry needs. It didn't feel like the standard diploma-mill type bootcamp where they charge a ton of money then release their devs-in-waiting out into... Read More the wild to fend for themselves. My experience thus far at Code Fellows has been that it's a supportive place. Very challenging, but that's the idea of a bootcamp -- to take someone and give them what they need so that they can become a software dev as soon as possible. I could only say positive things about it at all levels. The curriculum is excellent and the instructors are super. I had Ryan for 201 and Nick for 301 and they both have different styles that I really benefited from. I look forward to taking 401 soon and capping off my studies here. If you're committed to becoming a developer and you are looking for a place that values individuals for what they bring, I'd recommend Code Fellows.
