The instructors were awesome, the curriculum aligns with the industry, and I made some of the best friends I have - all while being remote. You’re going to have to put in work, that’s a given. But it was a blast and I couldn’t have imagined a better experience. Not only do you learn A LOT, but you also get to meet industry professionals and mentors to help with interviews, your resume, and your learning styles. Then upon graduating if you didn’t participate in the internship program, you get resources from their career services professionals to assist in the job hunt. This isn’t a bootcamp where they give you some online tasks then that’s it - there’s lecture, assessments, projects, 2 instructors, and a plethora of TAs you can talk to both during the day and after class

Code platoon was the first time in a classroom setting that I truly felt I was being taught the skills I would leave that room and use in a workplace. The staff and instructors push the students to better themselves, continuously evolve the curriculum with feedback from their students and are a group of people who genuinely have a desire to help their students succeed. From Basic coding to Full Stack Application Development to resume writing and interview prep this class made what was a stressful separation from the military and gave me the tools that have landed me at the beginning of a promising career. Thank you Code Platoon! The staff are by far the most genuinely positive and supportive group of people I have ever had the pleasure of being mentored by. Learning Software Development is a skill that requires a student to feel comfortable asking questions and this staff has created an environment where there truly are no "bad questions" just learning opportunities.

Code Platoon's Bootcamp is a non-profit organization designed to help military veterans or their spouses transition into the tech industry. Code Platoon's cohort offers plenty of options to help pay for tuition such as the Post 9/11 GI Bill, VET TEC and... Read More other scholarships. The staff and TAs are very knowledgeable on the subject and offers flexible courses to help fit your schedule. Once enrolled, you must treat this cohort like a full time job if you want to succeed. The staff and TAs are willing to help you succeed both during the cohort and post. I cannot recommend any other coding bootcamp other than Code Platoon if you're a veteran or a veteran spouse.

Attending Code Platoon was a great experience. The instructors and executive director are always looking to make the program better with each cohort and it shows in the resulting course. My cohort of 30 students had 2 instructors, 4 intern TAs (that were in class with us), and 9 volunteer TAs (for after hours). By the end, I felt confident about being able to write a full-stack application.

Everyone from the staff, instructors, the admin team and the students body is absolutely professional and friendly. Because every student in the community shares the same military background there is a seamless connection and made it a lot easier to collaborate... Read More with every one. The bootcamp is by no means an easy one, you really have to be studying on your own time after class and prepare to give up some leisure time. But the instructors team and the TAs are always there to be ready to help you.

Code Platoon was tough and very fast. It is best to go in knowing at least most of the content to some extent. Also, most students have created webpages or other projects before so the pace is intense. But the instructors, TAs and other students are very... Read More helpful and can help you. It is worth it. In my opinion this program is as good as it gets. I liked having full stack in one course. Lots of help is provided from configuring your coding environment, environment variables, getting the right packages, and sometimes downgrading to a package that works. The students are all very knowledgable and smart and can usually help you. Mentor program, interview prep, job search help with Rich Luby was also great. For my learning style it is better than university because it is immersive and collaborative. A lot of people take this course while already knowing almost all of it which can make you feel very behind. Some had already worked as engineers, many had already designed webpages. If you can help it you would want to have exposure or proficiency to most of the curriculum before you start. Additionally, the internships are competitive. If the class is large not everyone will get placed.
