PROs: Topics of study are relevant for the industry at the moment, the tools you learn are applicable to a wide range of full-stack/FE/BE developer positions. Most students show up every morning with an open mindset and are willing to be collaborative and to support each other. You will learn A LOT. CONs: INTENSE. 12 hrs a day for 12 weeks, requires a huge commitment, you can't do anything on the side (barely have time to sleep, eat or workout) xD so you have to plan your day, your meals and your time off. Impossible to have another job/internship on the side or any other sort of commitment that require any time/energy from you. You need to be healthy! Missing a few lectures will set you back cause it is extremely fast paced. Come with the right mindset, frustration and failure will be part of it and you still need to be professional and be a good team player :)

I have basic knowledge of so much that I am able to switch between front and back end easily. I’m good at learning new languages and reading docs which was a skill that Codeworks really hammered home. It’s the little things that have been so important in my new role, confidence with git, confidence that knowing when I am stuck I can keep going though solutions till one works. Codeworks gave me these skills without me knowing and now I’m really happy in my new role and my company are impressed with my efforts so far. Yes, bootcamps get you to a professional and interview standard but so much more than that, Codeworks immerse you in a work environment, using slack, pair programming and requesting help through proper channels, which I did in day one of my job but already felt familiar to me because of Codeworks.

The curriculum at codeworks is intense, demanding and well paced. Each day you feel like you reached your limit but then it expands a bit more the next day. They teach you how to be okay with not knowing everything all the time but figuring it out as you go. As a software engineer this is highly valuable as technologies change and you have to keep adapting to new ones ever so often. They consolidate your foundations during the junior part and in the senior part is really when you apply everything that you learned. You are not shackled by the technologies that you learned, but encouraged to explore and create a project which will help you learn a lot. During my job search I often found the technical challenges to be not that difficult as the course had prepared me really well for it. Even in a tough market most of us were able to find a job within 2 to 3 months. Their career support is helpful and responsive but do not expect them to hold your hands and lead you to a job offer. You will still be required to do some hard work after the course to land you a job.

Pros The great curriculum and efficient teaching methodologies ensure that at the end of the course you feel, and in fact are, uniquely prepared to face the challenge of your first job in the tech world. The excellent post-graduation job search system ensures that you maximise this potential. Cons It's unfathomably intense, and the burnout at the end is pretty harsh. Essentially, expect to have nothing else in your life for three months. If you can manage that it is certainly worth it. However, if not then perhaps rethink if a bootcamp is really what you want to be doing.
