Founded in 2014, Data Science Retreat helps coders or people with quantitative training (like science, engineering or math graduates) ramp-up rapidly for a data science career. DSR's rigorous course covers data science, business analysis, software engineering, communication training and career coaching. Participants get to work with real-world data and practical problems in order to develop a portfolio project, demonstrating that they can own a business problem, solve it, and communicate why their results are definitive.
DSR has world-class instructors and partners, and they provide networking opportunities with top-tier technology companies. It is however not for everyone - you are not spoonfed tutorials about how to do everything - you are given tools and methods to allow you to implement things, so this requires a lot of independent work - however, this means you can move fast and get a lot out of it.
Highly recommended if you are very motivated and want to learn as fast as possible and start a career as a data scientist.
