I found the format of lectures in the morning and self motivated practical work throughout the day a really affective learning practice. I came into the course with zero programming experience and only a little html & css knowledge, and was able to learn the fundamentals of JavaScript that has enabled me to easily create web applications with modern JavaScript library’s such as React. The island of koh- Phangan is an incredible place to spend two months, Tony knows everything about the island and organises plenty of fun excursions for the group on evenings and days off. There’s something for everyone in Phangan; great Thai food, beautiful beaches, parties in the jungle. My favourite part of the course was the people; working alongside awesome class mates as well as David and Tony, we became like a family and spent loads of time together, helping each other out with coding problems aswell and having a few beers and a game of pool after class. Most of the time when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is, however this course exceeded my expectations massively, a brilliant and seminal life experience.

Tony and David were fantastic teachers and extremely knowledgeable, able to explain the topics clearly and provide additional detail when sought out; great people and great to discuss tech with. The small class sizes made for a personal experience, where our group of students quickly became a family. We collaborated on work to support each other and then also had plenty of fun. The crowd who attended the course were fantastic. All the learning is set on the back-drop of fun and adventure on the island, which has a range of things to offer - beaches, good food, parties, resorts, waterfalls. Tony is familiar with the island and able to point out the best spots and also organised group activities. It was an intense and unforgettable few months of learning, growth and adventure. Besides that my understanding of programming, infrastructure and implementation increased a lot. I recommend this course for beginners or people that feels that learninig programming is overwhelming. I met these amazing people who we were all together trying to figure out what to do in life or just trying to learn a new career path. Having a small group makes you part of a new family. The content of the course is incredibly well planned, the projects you work on are there to help you progress little by little and by the time you look back you won't believe how much you've learnt. Tortuga Coders was the perfect coding bootcamp for me. Read More and simple island right off the ocean. the class size was a little smaller, for someone like me with no technical background, it was great to have time to understand the subject. The best part was the time spent after coding for 8 hours, you can grab a beer, play pool, take in the surroundings, new culture, and bonding with the group, you all came for a common goal. you learn from each other.

The Bootcamp gives you the key and all the technologies you need to know to become a junior full stack web developer. You are literally coding in Paradise, the location is just perfect and this is perfect to learn in a peaceful environment (while enjoying parties and other events in the evening). The bootcamp price is not as expensive as the other IT bootcamp. Regarding learning, Tony, the lead instructor, helps you when you are struggling, allowing you to move forward and learn from your mistakes. The curriculum is also well-structured with all the information you need to know to get started for your new job. If you are motivated and put all your energy into it, you will learn a large amount of knowledge and feel confident to find a job. I learned the method of how professional web developers code, something very valuable that it's hard to find online. By the way, this bootcamp doesn't give you access to contact or meetings for finding a job, however you will be prepared because you will learn to create a CV and implement your LinkedIn which allows you to be less stressed while searching for a job in your new field. I signed up for the bootcamp because I got tired of always having to Google things to eventually figure out something I wanted to do either for work or a personal project and thought maybe I would make faster progress if I actually knew what I was doing.... Read More During the interview with Tony I have to say that I was immediately impressed there was no hard sell it was a simple conversation about me and why I was looking for a bootcamp. We talked about the curriculum and his approach to teaching and setting my expectations for the bootcamp. As far as location goes, well I couldn’t think of a more perfect place for a bootcamp. Perfect place to take you away from distractions of home and work. To allow you to concentrate on the course and when you’re finished for the day, you’re on an amazing island with lots to do and even more to see. Very pleased about the small class size allowing everyone to get some 1 on 1 time with Tony and he made sure everyone got the right advice to help them along instead of simply giving us the answers. In summary I would say that you get exactly what you put into the bootcamp, Tony's knowledge and experience was shared freely and in some cases we even went beyond the planned curriculum and were able to learn other subjects we were interested in.
