I learned to make a full stack app, the process of development and how to interact with my fellow co-workers. The wide range of content covered help prepare me in ways I didn't know I needed to be prepared. As the cohorts time drew close to an end I had a great amount of help find work that I would enjoy.

I will always recommend the MTCS to anyone interested in the field. It's a great experience that does wonders for you confidence and abilities.

Making the decision to attend the Montana Code School was the best career move I've made to date. Read More poised to enter the role as a junior developer that soon evolved into that of a senior role. The opportunities presented to me post course completion would have never been made available to me had I not taken the risk to learn something outside of my comfort zone and be a part of a twenty-first century approach to education. The 'hands-on' attitude that the school advocates is pivotal to the success of it's students, and in my opinion, is the BEST way to learn. Not only did the MTCS provide the tools to succeed in the technical field, but it also focused on the soft skills that are equally as important during these career transitions for it's students. I am so grateful for the path that lead me to the Montana Code School - I would not be where I am today without it.

There aren't many cons to my experience at the Montana Code School. I loved everything about it: the participants from all walks of life, the instructor whose been developing software for 20+ years and (most importantly) the development of real life skills... Read More that have helped me in bounds and bounds. This 12 week immersive course really challenged me to think, and learn a whole new field that I never otherwise would have been able to do if I was trying to learn on my own. The relaxed nature is great, and the agile methodologies that were employed taught us many new approaches to developing and working collaboratively on a project. In addition to that, the students were able to have a say in what we wanted to learn and, thanks to having the top instructors in the state, we were able to go off script and have a knowledgable guide helping us along the way in delivering customized course material at the drop of a hat. With many schools out there, it's hard to decide which code school to go to. That said, I would without a doubt recommend no other code school than the Montana Code School. Coming out of it, I have a new passion for programming, a new set of skills, a new set of friends, and a revamped attitude to getting a job that I'll actually enjoy. The instructors and directors also keep in contact with you, and help you get jobs before you have even graduated! This is a due to having leaders of the tech community in Montana on there board, and in their support network - another reason why MTCS should be the only choice for those who want to code in Montana.

I successfully learned the essential fundamentals of program development to propel me into the technology sector. This program assists it's students with career placement post graduation via their network of local employers; as well as, providing the proper tools to set yourself up for success with career counseling services.

MCS was tough, there is no way around that. There will be days that are frustrating, but once the concept "clicks" and you get to see your work come to fruitition it is extremely rewarding. Working in a project-based, collaborative, fully immersive environment not only accelerated the learning curve, but truly made it possible to hit the ground running post-graduation.
