"Enroll with Caution ! Money once paid is never coming back if you intend to withdraw !"
I enrolled for an 8 week part-time Product Management Certificate and attended the first-week session but decided to withdraw from the course.
Just keep in mind, they are very unsupportive (although understandable) when a student wants to withdraw. And... Read More

"Great Investment and Incredible Experience"
I just completed an 8-week online Product Management course at Product School.
It truly had been an incredible experience and exceeded my expectations.

The instructor: Mischa S
I was fortunate to have Mischa as instructor. He has all the checkpoints I was hoping for from an instructor: diversified experience of cross-functional roles, a wealth of knowledge in the PM domain, dedication and enthusiasm. He was accessible when I had questions about the course or homework, and often stayed late after class to help whoever needed. I really loved that he brought to the class real-life practice and insights, which made the course more relevant and interesting.
The resources and tools:
The admin/support of Product School is super responsive and well organized. It has a very robust community on Slack and LinkedIn, where you get push notifications on upcoming live stream events, tips and advice, and everything you can think about to become a PM (or a good PM). I didn’t use Product School’s own website much other than downloading all the course and reading materials, and submitting my final. Slack was our main communication channel, which to me was effective.
The fellow students:
It was a diversified group of students (motivated professionals) from all backgrounds, ethnics and nationalities. I can not stress enough how much I have learnt from my peers. So many valuable ideas, feedback and resources were shared through group exercises, especially during the second half of the course when we started to get to know each other a bit better.
Career help:
Although job hunting was not my top priority during this course, I enjoyed the process of analyzing my own SWOT to figure out my superpower (it’s not as easy as it seems) and the tips/advice on how to be an outstanding job candidate through creating a better resume and cover letter, practicing interview questions and ‘smart’ networking.
To recap, it is definitely an intensive but manageable course, packed with practical knowledge and tools. To me this PM course is well worth the money and a good investment. Having someone (my instructor Mischa) there guiding me through my project without judgement was crucial. The emphasis and mindsets of user-obsession and collaboration with teams are invaluable for whatever I will do in my next career. Lastly, the network and friendship with some of my peers is priceless. I highly recommend it.

"Great instructor and reinforcement of first principles"

The great:
I recommend this course based mostly on the instructor (Vishal Ghotge - VP at PayScale). At least in my career thus far, I haven't had the opportunity to dig in and learn directly from someone with the experience of Vishal in a concentrated span of time. I'm thankful to have other great business coaches and mentors, but the concentrated attention from Vishal and his breadth of PM specific experience was great.
The good:
The curriculum is a good reinforcement of Product Leadership principles, but it isn't anything novel or that can't be found elsewhere. That said, it is pretty well laid out and is certainly easier to digest all the knowledge presented through this course than it would be to gather the information on your own (read a dozen books, hours of YouTube, podcasts, forums, etc.). Additionally, walking through this material with an experienced instructor and practicing peers was very valuable.
Could use some work:
Don't expect much from the course slide designs and LMS platform used. This is a bit nit-picky and didn't hinder the core value delivered through the course... but you do get a sense that some of these materials and communication was a bit cobbled together (lots of Zapier and awkward stock photos). At some point, it would be great to see Product School do a more comprehensive revamp of the course materials and learning platform / material delivery.
To note:
As I still have one course session remaining, I can't comment fully on the Job Support. I have found one seemingly high-quality opportunity through the Product School job portal that I likely would not have found elsewhere... but, to-be-determined what type of support they provide beyond that.

"Definitely not worth the price, also hugely incompetent program team"
The course is not worth $3,999. Not even close.
To his credit, Mark, my instructor, was pretty good. He clearly has real hardware product experience, and is an experienced PM. He really tried to make realistic exercises that, as a newly minted PM, I can... Read More
The material/content Product School provided to him? Not so much.
First of all: course started early June. First or second class in July (it's a two-month course), you begin classes on "public speaking" and "interviewing". Basically half the course material is mostly useless or at least of questionable use. Which is why I withdrew at around the halfway point.
Second: it's really not easy (possible?) to teach product management short of having the experience. Though I got somewhat familiar with different terms and such, the usefulness of the course in my actual job today is extremely low.
Lastly, I had an awful refund experience with the program team. First, I told them to refund me via check. Then, they forgot about my refund until I followed up two weeks later. Then, they refunded my via my credit card, which I don't have access to anymore. When I told them to refund me via check (again), they did. But then that check bounced. You can imagine this was a frustrating process.
Anyways, don't take this course. It's a waste of money. Read Cracking the PM Interview, build your own product. This course isn't for true future PMs.
