About Pursuit
Location:
Pursuit offers a rigorous four-year Fellowship program that trains adults from underserved communities to code and build careers in the tech industry. Their Fellows go from making $18,000 pre-program to over $85,000 post-program on average. Their Fellows... Read More
Pursuit is not a short-term bootcamp. The first year of the Fellowship focuses on helping Fellows gain the coding skills and industry smarts to land their first tech job. Three more years of job support help ensure Fellows thrive in their new careers. Pursuit’s curriculum is built on the three Pursuit Threads: Technical Mastery, Industry Readiness, and Leadership & Personal Development. Pursuit currently offers full-stack web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, Express, SQL, React, and Redux).
Pursuit works directly with hiring partners to create job opportunities exclusively for their Fellows. A majority of their Fellows do not have college degrees. Many of them come into the program without any coding experience but are able to get hired at great companies. Pursuit also works closely with employer partners to remove barriers, such as college degree requirements.
Through their Pursuit Bond funding model, Pursuit is able to provide the Fellowship with no loans and no upfront costs. Instead, they have an income-sharing agreement with Fellows. That means you'll pay a percentage of your future earnings for a set number of payments when you get a high-paying job. If you don't get a job or make above the salary threshold, you pay nothing. And if you lose your job, your payments pause until your next job. Pursuit also provides computers and other critical equipment for their Fellows.

"Changed My Life"
I'm a 6.4 Pursuit FullStack Web alum. I'm now an Associate Software Engineer at Moody's Analytics. The Pursuit application process required no knowledge of coding, but focused on my problem solving skills and whether I could learn to think like a coder.... Read More

"Pursuit Can Change Lives! - 5.4 Android!"
(QUICK NOTE: I am an Android alumn not iOS) Before coming to Pursuit I had no coding experience and wasn't on a career path to be in Tech. I didn't get into Pursuit on my first try but this was something I wanted to do so I was persistent. Being a student... Read More

Pursuit is not for the faint of heart. Pursuit has been a life changing experience for me. It was a hard journey with many ups and downs but it was fun/challenging too. The connections I've made at Pursuit will definitely be maintained for the rest of... Read More

"Pursuit is unlicensed!"
Pursuit is unlicensed. As a private training program, they should be under the state's Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision which monitors these types of programs. As a result, they don't follow state policy, such as tuition and fees must be the same... Read More

"Deep Financial Trouble"
This place is going down fast. Pre-COVID, they were barely providing adequate learning and getting their grads hired. Now, COVID is exposing all their weaknesses. They didn't have enough donations coming in to maintain the program and the pandemic is... Read More
If this place decides to switch to remote learning, my advice to potential students is DON'T DO IT. I went to in-person classes and I could barely get help when I needed it. It's going to be worse for remote learning because it will be easier for Pursuit to ignore you. The ISA was not worth it before and it definitely will not get your money's worth now.

This program was great for me! I learned enough about iOS to land an apprentice position. Along with this, the program helped me prepare for interviews by giving me resume and cover letter assistance, mock interviews, and DSA practice. That being said,... Read More
