I'm a 6.4 Pursuit FullStack Web alum. I'm now an Associate Software Engineer at Moody's Analytics. The Pursuit application process required no knowledge of coding, but focused on my problem solving skills and whether I could learn to think like a coder.... Read More The staff is always available to help and does everything they can to help you succeed. It is still a self-driven process, though. You will get out what you put in and they will always meet you where you are. The Pursuit community of alumni and volunteers is extremely engaged and are always offering assistance or facilitating opportunities where they can. The curriculum focuses on teaching you the FullStack basics, but also makes sure to focus on the current technologies to make you stand out in your job search. The professional development help is top-notch and applies to jobs way beyond the technical field. I would recommend Pursuit to anyone who is looking to kick-start their career whether it's your first or third act.

My experience was overall a very pleasant one at Pursuit. From the application process to the interview and all the way through covid and finally through to post-graduation, I've always felt that I've had the support that I needed from staff and instructors.... Read More I was working full time while going to Pursuit nights and weekends, and while this was probably one of the most challenging times in my career, I always had help and guidance from the program manager and the class instructor when I wasn't doing as well as I had liked. They provided me with the resources and care I needed to get ahead and make things work for myself. It's really up to you how far you want to take this. I decided to take it all the way. In the end, I was the first to land a job in my class, and right before graduating too, which is nice, but I couldn't have done it without the entirety of the Pursuit staff. I am ever-grateful to them for all of the support and encouragement along the way.

Read More of the program was one of the hardest challenges in my life; the nights and weekends cohort was no joke for me because I worked a job through half of my time & dealt with personal issues. In addition to working the course work required a lot: critical thinking, grit, being resourceful, communication, teamwork & emotional intelligence were some of the skills that I needed to graduate. Although the course work was difficult the Instructors and TA's are amazing! They're there to help you, no question is a bad question and there is no limit to how many questions you can ask. They're truly there to help, you just need to speak up and ask for help and also be clear with your question so that you can get the answer you need. Also your classmates are there to help, find those who are willing to help you and don't be afraid to ask. Pursuit is not just a program, it is a community where you build lifelong skills and connections that will be critical to advancing in your career. Pursuit isn't there to hold your hand but it's there to help you open the door. After graduating Pursuit, YOU are the one to help determine the outcome of your job search. You have to be the one to step up and continue to push in order to get the opportunity you want. Staff are all helpful and willing to get on calls at all types of hours just to help you. My fellow classmates were some of the most helpful and supportive people I've ever met and my instructor Alex Paul is the most dedicated and hardest-working person I've ever met in my life. It was a team effort but I completed the program, graduated, and landed a job at Twitter. I recommend Pursuit to anyone who is truly up for a life changing journey. I promise if you dedicate your time and efforts to the program, that effort will be reciprocated and you can land an incredible job offer. I changed my life in 15 months.

Pursuit is unlicensed. As a private training program, they should be under the state's Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision which monitors these types of programs. As a result, they don't follow state policy, such as tuition and fees must be the same... Read More for everyone (no one should be paying more than others for the same program), they should have licensed instructors, etc. None of that. Now they modified their ISA again, with a cap of $70K in tuition, and a tiered system of payments, so if you make $70,000 or so, they want 15% of it before taxes. For 48 payments! This program is not worth a maximum $70,000. They are another programs that are truly affordable or even free, AND LICENSED. They is no reason for this, especially when they target marginalized people who are at an economically disadvantage. It's indentured servitude.

This place is going down fast. Pre-COVID, they were barely providing adequate learning and getting their grads hired. Now, COVID is exposing all their weaknesses. They didn't have enough donations coming in to maintain the program and the pandemic is... Read More making that worse. They furloughed a lot of the staff and cut the pay of the rest. They cut off all alumni from all career services because they are running out of money to operate. Only currently enrolled students are receiving services. So Pursuit promised career support that they couldn't actually sustain. It's pretty obvious this place was barely operating in the black. Now they're deep in the red.

If this place decides to switch to remote learning, my advice to potential students is DON'T DO IT. I went to in-person classes and I could barely get help when I needed it. It's going to be worse for remote learning because it will be easier for Pursuit to ignore you. The ISA was not worth it before and it definitely will not get your money's worth now.

please go to a better boot camp this is not worth your money. pursuit is not a real bootcamp, there is no license or certification at the end.

* the organization only sees students as money, they do not help previous students
* staff is not diverse and are unable to understand under-representative students
* staff is extremely understaffed so they do not care about you and the 4 years of career advancement after graduating is a disappointment because * * there is none!
* when students cheat they lie to other companies about their capabilities
* the staff ignores students who are sexist or racist because they do not care or know how to handle it
* at the end of the job hunting process you are by yourself

This program was great for me! I learned enough about iOS to land an apprentice position. Along with this, the program helped me prepare for interviews by giving me resume and cover letter assistance, mock interviews, and DSA practice. That being said,... If you are expecting them to hand you a job (which they get as close as possible to doing with their company partnerships) then you will have a hard time getting out of your own way. If you are committed to doing your best, remembering that you are surrounded by people that want you to succeed, then you increase your chances of finding a job. If you are of the mindset that you deserve things that you have not put effort into, I suggest you look into another route to success.
