I absolutely recommend Sabio to anyone desiring a web development career or looking to the tech field in order change their lives! The best things about this program are that they literally teach you everything you need to build a web app (I walked in... Read More having taken exactly 2 Computer Science courses in college 9 years ago and am a successful web engineer now), they keep up to date on the latest, most popular tech trends to maximize your employability, and during the cohort give you a real dev shop experience (you work with a real dev team made up of your classmates, a real senior/lead developer, and build a real MVP (minimum viable product) for real product owners.

One thing I didn't expect that I should've asked for more clarification on going in was that you don't transition directly into a job after the time at the bootcamp ends. That was my expectation but it turns out you do have to put in job applications and earn an employment offer, competing with everyone else in the job market. That being said, they do an excellent job of preparing you for that with resume and interview prep, as well as access to their alumni room after cohort ends if you need the productive atmosphere. Hopefully they'll be able to strike up some sort of agreement with a company in the future. Another thing: be prepared to dedicate serious time to it; Sabio is a very demanding program (during my time, it was 70+hrs per week) and you really want to do as much as possible to get the most out of it.

Overall, I'm very grateful for the experience there. The people are great and really are there to help you. If you wanna learn to code gotta go to Sabio!

I'm a Marine vet who went through the Sabio via Antioch. Let me start off by saying, just like anything else in life you WILL get out what you put in! A little background about myself; I studied computer science for 1 year, dropped out, joined the Marines... Read More but never stop learning about web development. The key to getting the most out of this program is to be aggressive in your learning and never let up. It WILL be exhausting but you have to fight through because the short time you have with your cohort and instructor really will fly by.

If it's not apparent by the time you finish pre-work, you should know that this intensive training is meant for you to LEARN how to solve complex web development problems on your OWN. The instructors are there to guide you through the process, NOT give you the solution because the truth is there are countless possible solutions and you simply want to learn how to figure out solutions to problems you will encounter while writing software.

Like most great products or services there will always be a need for improvements but that doesn't mean you won't learn EXACTLY what you need to land a job as a web developer, software engineer or software developer. The single most important part of this whole experience is YOU. When they say you need to put in 70hrs a week, that's exactly what it means! No exceptions! I really can't stress this enough. It's possible and will definitely show when it's time to go out and find jobs. You’ll feel confident in knowing you learned the most sought after skills in the industry.

Ok the part you've probably been waiting for. What were my results? Well after job hunting for 9 days I was able to land a job on the LAST day of my cohort for the salary I requested, which is well above the average you see posted here. To put the icing on the cake, because of the great instruction I received at Sabio I've been recognized at my current company as a top contributor and received a pay raise after only 3 months on the job putting me at the 6 figure range!

There is no magic tricks to this program and the results speak for itself. If you're looking for a exceptional software engineering bootcamp. Sabio is definitely the way to go

Sabio, Probably one of the most popular Coding Boot Camps in the L.A area. Although lots of good reviews do come up for Sabio. It makes one wonder if those are a past culture. As a Alumni I have seen and heard of a variety of complaints about this Coding... Read More school to make someone wonder. Is Sabio really that good and are they really hitting the numbers they claim with employment hiring at 85%? Although Gregorio Rojas the CTO and one of the founders told me it was really 100%. The current culture of Sabio is in a downfall. Mainly because of the top brass. I have heard of many students being kicked out of the course only because they disagree with Gregorio. I have personally seen this man in such an uproar that I literally thought he was going to hurt someone. Even though Sabio has a high signup rate you have to remember that a huge chunk of that comes from a non-profit named TechHIre. Sabio has an exclusive contract with TechHire to give grants for the entire course to inner city people trying to get ahead in life. One would wonder why is Sabio so exclusive with this agreement. Is it because they are just that good? Turns out no. Sabio’s CEO Liliana Mongue and wife of Gregorio Rojas is on the board of directors for TechHire and she wrote up this deal for Sabio. Now I don’t know if this is a conflict of interest but maybe one of you does. Since this money is guaranteed the attitude towards these students has made them expendable. All of the students being asked not to come back has been part of this grant process. The reasons have been as little as a disagreement with Gregorio. I decided to write this because this has to stop. You don’t expect to get kicked out of something because of a disagreement. Especially when you are paying for a service. I can’t imagine going to my barber and because I don’t let that person cut my hair the way they want they tell me not to come back. If you ask around you will see the culture at this school diseased. It starts at the top and it trickles down to the instructors and staff. Most are so afraid of Gregorio that they will not cross him in fear they will be asked not to come back. Another trend happening in the camps, If you seem to be top of the class they will give you the bulk of the work and the smaller portions to less talented pupils. It’s becoming more and more the norm at this school. I am starting to wonder if Sabio started out good and is now going to the dark side.

The program itself is a lot of fun and very challenging. You're surrounded by people with relatively the same goal. You also have a highly experienced mentor that helps you develop and learn throughout the whole 12 weeks.

I was nervous going into a boot camp given the track record of most. I was afraid I wouldn't learn enough through Sabio for real world programming and I might be wasting my time and money. Going through the program, and its challenges, I felt more and more confident as a programmer. They go over not just how to program, but how to practice for interviews and how to talk like a programmer. Sabio also has a network of programmers that are currently working, so there is constant support and a lot of resources from Sabio alumni. Currently I am working as a Programmer getting paid way more than if I had a college degree.

Just to give an idea of my background prior to giving my experience at Sabio, I had studied Electrical Engineering during my time in university and thus had some exposure to programming in C++ and assembly languages. Going into the first week of Prework,... Read More I did have a difficult time understanding anything because I didn't finish all of the Code Academy prerequisites for the class. However, because of my previous experience, I believe I was able to catch on quickly. Going into cohort, the pace of the program definitely transitioned quickly but I came to really enjoy the learning process and instantaneously seeing the fruit of my learning. I believe that the instructor had an enormous impact on my positive experience in the cohort. He was very keen with judging individual skill levels as well as our ability to grasp new concepts. He believed in building a strong foundation of core concepts prior to tossing us into an array of problems, which may have not matched our skill level. This was the great thing about working with my instructor. Despite having 11 students, because of his ability to accurately gauge our skill level, it was possible for us to progress at our own speed, so you'd really get out what you put in. However, this is not to say your instructors will just give you answers, you are definitely expected to put in your due diligence prior to asking, as would any work place. Although it might be hard at various times throughout the program, remember that the point is not to just feed you knowledge but to train you to become a self-sufficient worker and an effective problem solver. Because of Sabio, I am now employed, doing what I love, and earning a lot more than what I was making before.

The only complaints that I would have is that I wish my lab period wasn't 6 weeks long, that we worked with a more modern framework(although now they do teach React), and I wish they taught data structures and algorithms.

I had so many doubts going into this program. "Can I really get a job after this", "Will I know enough to start writing code if I do end up getting a job?", "Am I just wasting 15k?"

As she started her schooling, thought of pursuing further with my career. But, because of the long... Read More gap in my career, it was getting harder and harder day by day to get a full-time job, even though I was upgrading my skills all that time. As things were not working as I expected, then decided to look for some Bootcamp reviews in Switchup.org across Los Angeles. To my surprise, found Sabio offering Bootcamp in C#, ASP.NET (which is very rare in LA) and read very good reviews. Decided to attend one of their Info session with CTO Gregorio Rojas. Convinced with his answers to all my questions, then firmly decided to join Sabio, even though it's very far from my place.

I'm happy for my decision to join Sabio, its worth the effort. Gregorio was always motivating and our cohort instructor Dan's incredible real-world experience and his knowledge bank always inspired me to work on new concepts and keep learning. With incredible moral support and the great curriculum, I gained tremendous confidence in my skills and also about getting a job. On successful completion of a technical online test, attended the in-person interview (it was my second in-person interview). Stepped out of the company building and got a call from the recruiter saying, they are offering you a job. When are you planning to join? It was like a dream come true.
