However, the absolute best aspect of Firehose is the 1:1 experience with my mentor. Firehose has optimized the algorithm for pairing students with the perfect mentor. The individual attention and support of my mentor creates a curriculum that is perfectly tailored to my way of learning and gives me exactly the support I need when I need it. While I've never attended an onsite bootcamp, I can't imagine that the 1:1 attention of an onsite can equal that of what I receive from my mentor.
Plus, I'm a working adult. I need to be able to set a schedule that works in tandem with my day-to-day responsibilities. Some days coding needs to happen at 5am and other days at 11pm. Firehose gives me this flexibility while always providing timely feedback and support. If I do start to feel really overwhelmed, I also have options to roll back to a part-time program or pause my program for a week or two to give me time to breathe and catch up.
For newbies, the learning curve is going to be steep. If you're committed and willing to put in the work, Firehose won't disappoint.

"Amazing Experience!"

The boot camp will provide the guidance you need to build different web applications, test driven development, and agile development. You will be taught how to think and apply these lessons in real-world situations by completing a set of challenges and quizzes. I've had the opportunity to engage with the support team, and I've always received all the help I need to make my apps work. All in all, I have had a remarkable learning experience, and I regret delaying this experience for a few months. I recommend the Firehose project to people who would like to switch into a more rewarding career such as Software Engineering, for entrepreneurs who want to make their ideas come true and deploy their web apps and for anyone with the desire to learn to code professionally.

"Thorough, dynamic material; effective mentorship; real-life projects - the BEST online coding bootcamp!"
I'm just over a month into the Firehose Project and I'm loving it! Here's why:
(1) Real-life Projects from Day One: from the get, we're building useful applications and learning frameworks as we go along. It seems counter-intuitive, but by the time you... Read More
I'll be sure to update this review once I'm done with the bootcamp.

Having desired to make a move to switch up my career path to web development I had been researching educational options online. There are plenty of self-taught methods available from books to videos, but I needed something with a structure and a timeline... Read More

"OWESOME EXPERIENCE"
Honestly, I don't see any cons in this program. On the contrary, I found only pros in it. It is self-explanatory and easy to deal with, not to mention the useful information it contains.

"One of the best decisions of my career"
I started The Firehose Project in Feb. 2017 with the intention to change careers and develop my existing programming skills to a professional level. Before I joined the programm, I did a lot of research on what would be the best coding bootcamp for me,... Read More
It soon turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made in my professional career so far.
The reason for choosing the Firehose Project were mostly related to their preperation course and a personal interview before the actual course started. I could ask all the questions I had to a 'real person' (not only watching a recorded Youtube video as with some other boot camps out there) and got a good idea of what the real course would look like by going through the preparation. In addition to that, The Firehose Project's curriculum included not only lessons about Ruby, jQuery, CSS/HTML etc. but also hours and hours on algorithms andTest Driven Development (TDD).
I am now in the last 2 weeks of the course and currently involved in a remote agile team project. After endless hours of coding, mentorship and reminders from my wife to eat, shower and sleep, I can now say: Through The Firehose Project, my passion for coding transformed from an initial spark into a wild fire. Looking back, I never would have thought that I learn as much as I did within just a couple of month. Thanks to the two founders Ken and Marco who are constantly helping their students (via weekly office hours, slack chat as well as via email and as mentors), I am now confident not only to enter the real life coding world (and they even prepare you for that with a big job preperation at the end of the course) but have also already started to help out other coding students.
If you asked me if I chose them again , I'd say: without hesitation!

"Great Course"
This was an excellent course. The content of the course was made easy to understand but it covered a lot of ground. The curriculum was focused on practicality -- getting projects up and running so you could see your results how well you actually learned... Read More
