"Great way to begin your career in software development."
Like many others that enroll in this program, I came from a degree completely unrelated to computer science. The instructors at the boot camp do a great job of ramping you up to be able to develop functional programs. I came in with no experience in development,... Read More
The only downside to this program is that there is not a comprehensive SQL curriculum. Many companies look for SQL database design and SQL query knowledge. There is a way to teach yourself the basics that the program providies, but I believe that SQL should be taught by the instructors as well.

"I didn't like a lot of things about this program."
You probably came here looking for reasons to go so I will write to you:
If you don't have any experience at all int programming I would highly suggest not signing up for WCCI. Unless you're a genius and get things easily you won't last. We had nearly... Read More
If you have a very busy life with kids, jobs, or anything else I would also highly suggest you not signing up for this program. It takes a lot of time and it doesn't stop. You have projects over the weekend and they can be a challenge. This was probably a factor of why people dropped out as well.
You might be thinking well there is a money-back-guarantee and I did very well on their online assessment. Everyone does well on the online assessment and no one will ever get their money back from that guarantee. Don't let those be factors in your decision.
You might also be thinking well there are a lot of stories about students succeeding after the Bootcamp. Everyone that did well in my class had a background in computers or was intelligent. On their website, they have people who succeeded but if you look at their LinkedIn accounts they have a bachelor's in computer science or did very well in other areas. Take it as you will but I am writing this so you make the best decision for you.
I just did not like my experience here for a lot of reasons:
The classroom is awful. If you like hearing a thumping bass from 11-4 brought to you by the clothing store below the classroom well signup. Cords are everything. The projector is in the worst place and you can't see it.
The teachers: one teacher had no idea how to program and failed to explain correctly HTML and CSS. The teacher didn't even like coding but was hired to teach it? Just detrimental to people who knew nothing about coding and was going off what she said. The teacher never knew the answer to anything and would send you references to stuff that didn't even make sense to what i was asking.
The other teacher I can describe in two situations one is when I asked a question and he said "Wow I can't believe you just asked that" and the other is the motto of RTFM. Which is read the "fine" manual. Great programmer but I would never consciously choose him as my teacher.
There is lots of little things: all the staff being late, the submit form for our projects would never be up on time, the Curriculum repo is disorganized, I was expected to see the campus director four times and only saw her one of those times, I got 100% on assignments where I knew the code wasn't perfect (i wish the teachers looked over my projects and said where I did good or where I did bad), we would have days where nothing goes on and we would just sit there on online tutorials. One class, the teacher got up in front of us and showed us https://www.w3schools.com/ on the overhead and said read the documentation. That was the whole day and that happened more than once.
If I'm going to teach myself anyway why pay someone who is just going to say read the manual to me anyway and look down on me for not knowing how to program?
I learned a lot, there were some great parts and great people like Cynthia and Lauren and some Speakers that came in and the students were awesome and taught me more than teachers did but, in my opinion, this wasn't worth the money and quitting my job.
Hopefully, I helped you!

The instructors were especially amazing. They are all from very different backgrounds, and through their combined experience, experiences, positive attitude, and dedication to making certain that each student gets what they need to be successful.
Also be sure to schedule time with Career Services to make the most of your opportunities. The Career Services team has all the tools to give you the confidence it takes to successfully navigate the post-boot-camp world of job hunting.
I recently received my first offer that I gladly accepted exactly one month out of the boot camp, and I could not be more satisfied with the results of the whole experience.

That was entirely out of line. Ohio Means Jobs told me that I should be afforded the same respect and dignity as someone who paid using their own funds
I was expelled and given no due process. If they are willing to treat a disabled veteran ( The President of the School also commented ..."My husband is a veteran..so what.")
I have filed over a dozen complaints regarding this matter and will provide copies of emails and all documentation to any prospective student. I'm a former investigative reporter in Cleveland and worked for a major tv news station here and I have requested volumes of public records regarding this program and will also share that info. Please keep in mind at the time I was expelled I had a GRADE AVERAGE OF 99 PERCENT. Black students especially contact me before going anywhere near this place. RichardJones5@me.com
