The Data Analysis with Python & SQL course was incredibly practical, helping me refine my skills in querying databases, data cleaning, and working with large datasets.

One of the biggest strengths of WeCloudData is the quality of instruction. I found the quality of instruction here to be quite good. It's mainly a follow-the-leader approach to learning business intelligence skills, whereby you rebuild professional grade, reverse engineered dashboards in Excel, Tableau, and Power BI from scratch.... Read More I don't mind this approach myself, and there's lots of helpful advice from the instructors, who tend to be moonlighting industry professionals as opposed to teachers by trade. That's a good thing; you'll pick up lots of good advice from the field along the way. However, if you prefer a more creative approach to learning based on by designing and building your own projects, you won't find much of that here. SQL is approached differently, with students expected to try to figure out potential solutions before answers are discussed. There is a brief introduction to python, just enough to let give you a sense of what it's about, but not enough that you could really claim it as a practical skill. Class size in my cohort was comfortably small, about 10 people.
By default, a portion of the tuition is intended to cover career services, but I didn't feel like I got much value out of this aspect. They make an effort to pair you with a paid mentor from the industry, but in my experience it's more about cheerleading and less about practical advice. I didn't even get a review of my resume, even after specifically asking for one. If you sign up, consider negotiating a discount on your tuition in exchange for opting out of post-graduation job support.
By itself, this course probably isn't enough to land you a job (I haven't found one, several months later), but if you already have a degree and and/or a bit of experience with data, then it's a nice feather in your cap. It also qualifies you for discounts on WeCloudData's other programs in data science and data engineering if you choose to pursue that route.

The Bootcamp is intense. You need to do it full-time. Students should do their assignments and use the opportunity to practice presentation skills. The TAs are great and are very responsive. Assignments and projects are challenging so look through the curriculum and make a plan.

After the course work is finished, you get two job placements in the industry. This is the feature that separates WeCloudData from the other bootcamps. Placements get your foot in the door. TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE of this. Look at it as a 3 month interview to showcase your abilities. Go above and beyond and you may get an offer (like I did).

Sure there are many improvements that could be done to improve the delivery of the material. However, as a result oriented person, WeCloudData delivered on its promise. 5 stars based on results.
