The Learning People with the course 'Full stack development' have thus far offered me continual support and a strong lesson structure.
Three modules, each module with a final practical assessment putting your intel to the test.
The tricky part of all... Read More of this is how motivated are you? And do you enjoy puzzle solving, do you get a kick out of fixing and finding a bit of wrong'un code.
I've discovered I do, but it still took me a while to get started.
The course does have a few problems, spelling and grammar for a start. Certain explanations can be complex to grasp and I feel there are better or alternative ways to explain them, however that is what the internet is for.
The support team is solid, the mentorship so far is a bit pointless, but I may need it in the latter stages of the course, who knows? It would be great for the mentor to make contact with you, just to check in and make sure the individual is on track.
All in all so far I have found the course really promising and a great start to achieving my goal to become a full stack developer.

Pros:
Structured classroom work is very good, and takes you through all the vital parts of the different languages.
Shows you how to code in the correct way and hopefully eliminates any bad practise.
Allocated a tutor who is very helpful and allows available... Read More to lend a hand.
Student care is great, they will help with any issues you are having and will provide a CV detox for you

Cons:
One of the exercises had the incorrect code available to upload, so I spent an unnecessary amount of time trying to solve something that I wasn't able to.

I have received a lot of support both when I have asked for it and impromptu, which is fantastic - you always know where you are and have multiple avenues that you can take to get any help you need. The... Read More mentor programme has been fantastic as well and it's nice to be able to look through the past works and history of your mentor to get a better understanding of the person giving you help and their background of work within the industry.

On top of that the courses are comprehensive - I have learned way more than I thought would be possible in the time that I have had with the course. Everything is explained in such a way that a layman could understand, without losing any of the necessary complexities and contexts and you become acclimatized to the technical terms nice and quickly along the way.

I have not yet used any job preparation support, but the range of help available is amazing - I certainly had not expected anything so thorough, especially with the guarantee of continued help getting you into your first job within the industry.

Overall, everybody I have been in contact with has been supporting, kind and informed. The course itself has been comprehensive and fantastic and I look forward to jumping into my first web development job!

Nothing quite beats free education, especially of such a modern, fast-paced and growing field. Technology has been, is and will always be hot. So approaching that barrier of entry and being able to break it is crucial. Part of learning is also learning... Read More how to learn (arguably one of the most difficult steps). It can be overwhelming figuring out what the best way to learn is and the proper progression. This is why I LOVE CodeAcademy. It provides an easy to digest, foundational introduction to core concepts revolving around all of the latest and relevant programming languages, frameworks and concepts. Even expert level developers or engineers can gain initial bite sized chunks of crucial knowledge if they want to tap into a new concept. I was so shocked and how well presented the material was on the React Beginner's Tutorial Part I. React seemed daunting but the ideas behind it make sense and are logical, thanks to CodeAcademy. They open up by showing the integrations of JSX which combines Javascript and HTML syntax, a highlighting feature of the React framework. So they cut right to the chase, and remove the fluff.

I will continuously use CA as a way of learning something initially as long as it's free.

Took this when I was a beginner and it helped me decide that software engineering was for me!

Each course has a series of units and lessons, each with an explanation of new material plus the chance to try it out yourself. It is a perfect mix of theory and practice. This method is ideal for learning programming, being "hands-on", and you learn much faster than just passively watching video explanations.

Codecademy lessons generally have very clear explanations that are easy to follow, even for beginners. The authors even try to make it lively and even funny, so it makes learning coding a lot of fun.

I am very grateful to Codecademy for giving me such a good start and I highly recommend it to everybody! :)
