It seemed an exciting field: rewarding, competitive, and rapidly growing. The notion that I could work from anywhere was very appealing, and this was pre-pandemic. Soon after, my inspiring best friend earned her Master's from Vanderbilt. She told me all about her Machine Learning degree. I remember thinking, "I am not sure I am smart enough...I can't afford it." When the pandemic hit, I was forced to pivot because the nature of my business is residential. After years of contemplating it, I decided to bet on myself. All my clients were quarantined, so I applied to ENTITY Academy. What did I have to lose? I had already researched and even been to open houses for other boot camps. I really liked that this program is geared towards women. From the moment I had my first recruitment call with Julio, Entity Academy has been nothing but a wonderfully positive experience. Of course, a tech BootCamp is NOT easy. However, with Entity, you have all you need to get your foot in the door. Networking- FireSideChats with working professionals Technical Help - A qualified Senior Technical Mentor will walk you through your coursework when you are stuck. (Devin, you are the absolute best.) The CEO and Director are invested in your success and overall happiness during the program. I was personally called and introduced to VPs, CEOs, and Amazonian women more than once. More sleepless nights completing other certificates await. I've learned that in Tech, we ALWAYS need to be learning, and this course makes you competitive in the market. If you are thinking about it, go for it. I graduated in March 2022. I interviewed as soon as I put my credentials on LinkedIn. I noticed that a lot of jobs after graduating college expected entry-level candidates to have five years of experience and that to me was ridiculous for someone who was just starting off. I wasn't able to do much internship work during college because a lot of them were unpaid and I needed to work in order to pay my bills. The program helps you create a portfolio where you can show potential employers what you know and that was a huge help for me. I was able to land a social media position at a newspaper two months after graduating. For anyone interested in gaining skills and experience all while building network relationships I would 100% recommend it.

One of the tools I really appreciated learning during my courses was Trello, because it made sense to me, having a digital version of what I tend to do with sticky notes. Read More director who is older than me 🙃 We have many projects going at once, and we need to be able to synchronize our work and know where we are in each project, who's done what, etc. I told them about Trello, and how it could work for us- both of them were enthusiastic, and we've been using it for almost a month, with good success! This morning, my director forwarded us an email from another department in our organization; they heard we're using Trello, and they want us to teach them how it could work for them. I would not have known about Trello, nor how to use it, without having learned it during my Data Science program! 😊 Also I want to give major credit to Devin M and Sherlin W, both of whom were my constant supporters during my program.
