It flew by so fast and can't believe in 12 weeks, I went from dreaming about my future of getting a job in the technology field to actually it starting to become a reality of having interviews with big companies that once seemed unattainable with the help of staff making sure you are the most prepared you can be. Once you graduate, you still will have the support of the Savvy Coders staff and fellow alumni that will encourage and help you along the way! Learned so much in these 12 weeks and it was the best decision I have made and it wouldn't have been possible without all the great staff and students that are at Savvy Coders! I went to a 4 year university and majored in business but had no real passion after graduating. I’ve always had interest in tech which lead me to do research on software development, which ultimately lead me to Savvy Coders. It was the best career decision... Read More I’ve ever made. I landed a job in tech about halfway through my cohort. The curriculum and staff are amazing and it will instantly make you employable with good pay. It is a massive time and energy commitment, but it is worth it. Be willing to put in the work and take time outside of class to learn and practice the material. pros: learned how to create a single page web application from start to finish ic agile certification cons: one of the instructors had connection issues so it was hard to follow because the class was just listening to audio one night a week if a student... Pros: Can be free if you qualify for an LETC grant (had to be underemployed or unemployed). Fast bootcamp. Employer connections (though mostly contractor tech companies). Getting new instructor and content. for 2022 cohort but beware. Cons: Not well structured.... Read More The main instructor was all over the place, skipping around on curriculum and did not know anything or teach anything about Tableau Public, putting everyone behind on their project. More focused on telling stories and playing weird coded electronic music for several minutes at a time. Also, more focus should have been on SQL, it's what more companies value. Also, a Python course was assigned that is supposed to take 8 months- we were given just over 2 because they have to pay for every month you're still making progress! What is the point of having someone go through the course if they have to cut corners and don't learn just to get through it in time? Interviewing advice is pretty generic, for the most part nothing you can't learn from reading basic articles.
