I've always been interested in the tech field but found myself feeling both very overwhelmed and intimidated. Skillcrush has made learning easy and most importantly -- fun!! I've tried other learn-to-code programs online but didn't have much success.... Read More Skillcrush breaks down learning in ways that build upon each other, laying a great foundation. Their content is structured into digestible bits of information immediately followed by hands-on practice, giving me the opportunity to put the skills I learn to use. If I ever get stuck or need a push, I have mentors who are always available in addition to a cohort of students who are learning right alongside with me. I highly recommend Skillcrush for anyone looking to learn tech skills in a fun and encouraging environment!

I really like Skillcrush because it is learning for all! People like me who are visual learners, as well as, hands-on.... or if you prefer to read to follow along...it's all there! The content is broken down into bite-sized pieces so it isnt overwhelming,... Read More and each section has some kind of exercise, which helps seer it into my brain haha. It's all simple, easy to understand content. There's a forum that all members have access too that's helped me find ways to solve bugs in my code, in the real-world way that we'll have to use when we have our own business/job.

Everyone has been super supportive; answering emails, forum questions, and homework guidance.

It's been an awesome experience so far, and I'm excited to continue on my web dev journey with Skillcrush!

I say 'remotely' because it is very different to learning on your 'own'. With Skillcrush the system is set up so you are not learning alone at all. You have an active peer network grouped by your module in Slack with whom you can converse and ask questions... Read More etc. Further, you have the Skillcrush tutors to rely on should you need feedback or specific help.
The blend of video, text, quizzes and assignments creates an optimal learning recipe. However, the thing that works for me most of all is the completeness of the content. For e.g. you don't just learn html and css; you learn to actually register a domain, buy a hosting package and host a site you have just created. This, for me, is what really works. In the end its psychologically important to have real evidence of your learning and that's what you get with Skillcrush.

Let me begin by saying I have known about Skillcrush since 2015. It was terrible I waited so long to begin my education.

Real time feedback is always available. When you run in to errors or just can’t get the answers you need there are multiple resources for help.
You can expand your education goals. You may start on one path but you can get the opportunity to try other courses should you want to expand you knowledge.
Career resources and advice. Should you sign up I recommend the Break In To Tech program. It teaches you the basic skill needed to get started. And down the road, you get so much help in starting your IT career of your dreams.
Cons:
To be honest I personally don’t have any yet. I may never. I get emails about my questions when they have been answered. If I just can’t move forward I can go to the slack community. The whole course is lined out so I can prepare for what’s next.

As long as you manage you time wisely and work at a little each day, you can definitely find success with Skillcrush.

I just started the Break into Tech program last week. I have successfully coded my first website, and I am very optimistic that I can make a career of this. I have been hesitating on this for years because of the price tag. Since I am currently unemployed,... Read More though, I did get a discount. I'm trying to recover from some severe burnout, but I can still follow this program and stay motivated each day. The way it's broken up into bite sized chunks, how key things are repeated to really get them in your brain, how cute Adda is, it's a great learning experience. And I have extensive knowledge about learning experiences, having completed a Bachelor's degree and a PhD, as well as having over a decade of teaching experience. The other thing I love about Skillcrush in general is that they actually seem to care. I had an issue with an example they used that I felt was a bit problematic; I received a reply the next day with assurance that it would be fixed. And the instructors give feedback that includes gifs of corgis! Who doesn't love that?!

Attending Skillcrush's Break Into Tech program was perhaps the best career decision I've made in a long time. Read More work or projects that I feel less motivated to work on. Have to be honest, I wasn't sure if I would be able to take in all the new learning at this point in my life. But then I took Skillcrush's free coding camp to get a taste of how the lessons would work out, and that drove it home for me. I don't think I would have been happier honing my tech skills anywhere else.

Going through the Skillcrush material has been a great way to get into tech. The topics are thoroughly explained using videos, readings and practice exercises. The best part is the community we have on Slack and through the Zoom Town Hall meetings. You really feel like you are part of a community that you can reach out to if you get stuck or just need encouragement as you go through the material. The Town Hall meetings allow you to meet the instructors and other students like you. It was definitely worth the investment! If you are not satisfied with the self-paced video courses and you also cannot quit your job for 6 months to go full-time into a bootcamp, Skillcrush is the best choice!
