This program was start to finish a great way to understand the basics of data analytics. I went through Excel to learn vlookup/pivottable essentials, SQL and Python to use in a capstone project, and Tableau/Power BI to understand the visualization portion... Read More of the career. Within each part of the curriculum, I was instructed to complete several projects to solidify my learning. There's a lot of great help with the community on slack they offer as well. After each of the 2 capstone projects, I had to also present my projects as I would in a business setting (in front of your assigned mentor).

The curriculum is taught with such simplicity that, it is easy for someone new in the IT world to comprehend and be equipped to pass CompTIA sec +. I had great coaches, support system and Teaching Assistants to provided me with extra help when needed.... Read More

The Springboard program gave a great survey of the entire data science process before going into various topics. I gained a good handle on Python programming and SQL by the end. The projects were organized in tiers of difficulty which gave me the ability... Read More to complete them at any level. By far the greatest part of this program was my technical mentor. She had incredible industry knowledge and guided me in my capstone projects so I didn't deliver work that was too simplistic or get lost in overcomplicated projects.

The one thing I'd like to see in the future of the program is more time spent on the 'software engineering' side of data science. How do you deliver in the broader context setting up models and product for commercial use within a company? I think this could be a differentiator in the future.

I am very glad I chose the Springboard Data Science Track as my first introduction into Data Science.

The curriculum is thorough, covering everything from user research to prototyping, with plenty of hands-on projects. I recently completed the Springboard certification program, and overall, I found it to be a well-structured and progressive course. The learning path was easy to follow, making it simple to stay on track and build new skills. One of the program's highlights... Read More was the active and supportive community, which provided timely help whenever I encountered challenges. This aspect significantly contributed to enhancing my marketing skills.

However, I believe there is room for improvement in the mentor-matching process. It would be more beneficial if mentor assignments aligned more closely with the student’s background. Additionally, the tech support could be more responsive to ensure smoother learning experiences.

I took/am close to finishing the Web Development course. It focuses on HTML/CSS and Javascript and is tailored toward people new to software development. I have a computer science degree and several years of software development experience, but not in... Read More web development. So I took this course to update my skillset.

This course is good for both. It properly explains things, such as, "what is the cloud?", how data is routed around the world wide web, etc. It also discusses many programming concepts and source control. I'm familiar with all those things but most people likely are not.

Where I benefitted, and new web developers will too, is the hands on experience coding up HTML/CSS and Javascript. There are lessons and programming exercises that keep you interested. Your progress is tracked by weekly point status and you have access to TA's and are assigned a mentor to help with technical content. You also have counselors and career advisors to help you navigate through all the other aspects of a new career.

If you are having difficulty finding a curriculum I suggest you check out the Springboard Software Development Career Program. Make sure you set aside enough time. I spent about 15 hours a week.

I didn’t need much support, as I understood the resources, but whenever I reached out via email or Slack, I received responses in a reasonable time.

I found Springboard’s Bootcamp well-structured, with a step-by-step approach allowing me to build my skills progressively. The course material was highly relevant and significantly impacted my work. The community was also beneficial, with quick responses... Read More whenever I needed guidance. However, I believe the mentor matching process could be more thorough to ensure better alignment, and the tech support could benefit from being more immediate. Overall, it was a great learning experience with some areas for improvement.
