In my case, I had to start with the foundational concepts, the course provides basic resources that help in understanding the more advanced parts of the curriculum. I had a positive experience with my mentor, who consistently provided helpful answers... Read More to my questions, whether they were technical or not. The career coach calls were adequate. I didn’t need much support, as I understood the resources, but whenever I reached out via email or Slack, I received responses in a reasonable time.

I found Springboard’s Bootcamp well-structured, with a step-by-step approach allowing me to build my skills progressively. The course material was highly relevant and significantly impacted my work. The community was also beneficial, with quick responses... Read More whenever I needed guidance. However, I believe the mentor matching process could be more thorough to ensure better alignment, and the tech support could benefit from being more immediate. Overall, it was a great learning experience with some areas for improvement.

My experience taking the UX/UI Design Career Track course has been a long, but rewarding one. The coursework is essentially sources from online, which anyone can access.
However, Springboard curriculum shines in that students are able to practice hands-on... Read More design skills through 4 portfolio projects, one of which you work with fellow design students and an industry client/ company. These projects are reviewed by hiring managers who give feedback for improvement. Additionally, the student is paired with a mentor that guides the student through learning the material and ideally, motivates them. Springboard's support team is great about getting back to you in a timely manner and making sure your questions are answered. I felt they tried their best to work with me on scheduling course extensions.
For me, the biggest challenge with the framework of this curriculum is that it is self-study/paced. If you struggle with time management, this will likely be challenging for you. There is a student Slack channel where you can connect with other students to study together virtually, but other than that I'm not aware that there was any other way to find peer support till the final project.
Overall, I think if your strengths lie in time management and consistency, taking this course would be great, especially if you are transitioning careers. The greatest value I found is 1) industry mentor, 2) hands on experience with the material and quality projects to add to your portfolio, and 3) working with an industry company. Negatives are the price and lack of peer community.

I took/am close to finishing the Web Development course. It focuses on HTML/CSS and Javascript and is tailored toward people new to software development. I have a computer science degree and several years of software development experience, but not in... Read More web development. So I took this course to update my skillset.

This course is good for both. It properly explains things, such as, "what is the cloud?", how data is routed around the world wide web, etc. It also discusses many programming concepts and source control. I'm familiar with all those things but most people likely are not.

Where I benefitted, and new web developers will too, is the hands on experience coding up HTML/CSS and Javascript. There are lessons and programming exercises that keep you interested. Your progress is tracked by weekly point status and you have access to TA's and are assigned a mentor to help with technical content. You also have counselors and career advisors to help you navigate through all the other aspects of a new career.

I had a really good experience with the program. I have a family and the ability to do the work on my own schedule was crucial for me. Read More and the support team anytime I had a technical question or a question about the course. This course is great if you can stay self motivate (the mentors and some of the lessons help with this). All in all I would recommend it to someone who needs flexible learning times and is ok with self teaching and doing research when they get stuck.

The cyber security career track program was much more difficult than I anticipated. Regardless, I was able to complete the course thanks to my mentor and assistance fom the advising team.

Some things i wouldve done different:
1. Utilize my mentor more.... Read More They can only help you if you ask.
2. Consistency. I had some personal things get in the way of me being consistent. If I wouldve been more disciplined and consistent i wouldve finished sooner.
3. Persistence. Dont give up even when you think you cant do it. Keep going.
