My Tech Talent South Teacher, Zach, and Teacher Assistant, Phibal, were so incredibly supportive and guided me through... Read More HTML, CSS, Javascript, Java, SQL and so much more! From front end to back end, they helped me quickly come up to speed with the tools I would need to continue learning and coding to become a full stack developer. I loved being in the full time class and having a close-knit cohort of students who were also very passionate about learning to be a full stack web developer. We leaned on each other when needed and also got great support from our teachers inside and outside of the classroom. The whole TTS team were very supportive and even offered tutoring sessions. I gained so much from being in a great cohort, having instructors who helped push and guide me along the way, attending great meetup events hosted by TTS, and having a fantastic TTS tutor, Riyazh. I can't say enough great things about TTS and thanks to them, I am now working in a field I love and doing meaningful work that utilizes my new coding skills. I was hired right out of my bootcamp and I couldn't be happier.

Read More that and some people needs more attention from the instructor and that's where the highlights are. My instructor, Mr. Murat, was the best instructor I've ever had. The knowledge of the subject, the way he passes on, the helpfulness with the students, and above all the happiness he had doing so. Even when we were all tired from the day he was able to capture our attention. Great person. The best instructor. Congratulations to him and to those who hired him.

The teacher for my specific class was very eccentric and had a way of simplifying complex topics to Layman's terms, in a comical way. I would definitely recommend this to others as a way to introduce themselves to programming or just to brush up on skills.

Cons: (Personal reason) It was a far drive. Would have preferred a space downtown. Full time tech job all day and then try to retain ANYTHING during class seemed near impossible. Would have liked more in class curriculum to further understand the language. More in class practice problems. 3 hours of class time teaching you to build the simplest of programs followed by homework set to build something complex. Power points - becomes too easy to just zone out and copy and paste stuff to make it work rather than fully understanding its reasoning. Everything with the school's curriculum is outdated. Seems recycled to the point of being not advantageous anymore. After 8 weeks I am not confident in even applying for any entry level developer position.

The community outreach coordinator is one of the sweetest, most outgoing professionals I’ve met, with many contacts and affiliates. The program is quite personalized to include 3 hours of 1 on 1 tutoring, assistance with job search, networking opportunities, and well... free popcorn and surprise snacks. It was always nice to share some popcorn with the class during break. It was a pleasure to not have to learn coding all alone!

I started with just a mere interest and basic understanding of programming, and came out of it having learned and accomplished more than I had imagined.
That in itself would be enough for me to recommend Tech Talent South, but the people make it even BETTER. Teaching assistants with real world experience who help you when you get stuck or cheer you on when you finally get that bit of code to do what you wanted. Instructors who don't just relay information, but make sure you understand it. And a Community Organizer who will put you in front of as many job opportunities as possible to get you coding in the real world as soon as possible.
If you have an interest in learning to code, the Tech Talent South program is the way to go.

At Tech Talent South it isn’t just about code, they help you build yourself for the professional tech environment And provide you with the skills you need to land a job, They give you job leads and will even recommend you to companies. I am familiar with both part time and code immersion courses that cover everything from html to ruby! Within just a couple of months, you'll familiarize yourself with building everything from a static portfolio page to a running blog website. The classes are intimate, allowing students to grow strong relationships with one another, as well as get personalized help from the instructors. Tech Talent South also hosts many meetups which boosts students' chances to grow their network and excel in their future careers. The curriculum is concise, easy to follow, and all-encompassing, as far as covering everything students need to know, to land their first jobs as developers. I can't recommend TTS enough, as it has and continues to focus on providing excellent classes and truly cares about student successes.
