The mentors themselves are very friendly and trying to do their best, but they are not experienced enough to provide you with much extra knowledge beyond the narrow scope of each task. The theory is not taught at all (you have to study yourself), and the "learning by doing" approach is just writing a bunch of reports and giving presentations and no proper feedback was ever given so that you could learn from your mistakes and actually improve. On the same note, there was never a single proper code review. On the other hand, there were constant deadlines to complete reports and presentations, so that one would spend most of the time fulfilling these (pointless) tasks instead of actually investing time in some learning. I understand that this methodology is meant to teach students how to be efficient at work, but the result was just an illusion of doing something new without really understanding what you are doing, and frustration of not actually learning anything new things where you wanted to dig deeper. This is not education, this is bullshit.

The absolutely worst part, though, is the job support. The company gives you statistics of successful alumni with new jobs and their salaries which sound good, but I suspect this is all made up, and definitely those numbers are not true for the recent alumni. Ubiqum also claims that they have an extended network of companies in Barcelona who hire alumni, but from what I have seen and experienced, this is nonsense. The company doesn't even keep an up to date network of alumni, which would be helpful for networking. During my time there, all that happened was two "career days" -- one of which was even a visit of recruiters, not even an actual hiring company. Besides that, all that was ever provided in the job support arena were two workshops about improving your CV and linkedin profile, and a practice HR interview. Frankly, my feeling was that Ubiqum didn't give a shit about whether their alumni get a job or not. After those workshops were completed, I have not received a single followup communication from the career services, let alone a referral for a job interview.

I would really love to give a more positive review, because I overall had a good time during the course, and met some interesting and great people among students and mentors. However, at what I paid for, Ubiqum failed spectacularly. It is clear that Ubiqum doesn't care about actual education, only about making money through inflated marketing claims.

You wished you've paid for skilled and knowledgeable mentors. Their ridiculous assumption that a mentor is there for cheering and not teaching is to hide from their shortcoming. No care from mentors, busy chatting, job hunting or doing their own learning... Read More online.
Their standup meeting and presentations are all about marketing and 0 tech science orientation...the intend to copy and turn us into Shark tank, Dragon den suitors was ridiculous, but we had to do it, waste time, when we'd rather study and learn more... their so called flexibility.
Indeed in the kingdom of the blind the one-eyed are kings. Our early ignorance was a bliss for them.
Almost 10 000euros for 30minutes daily meeting with a mentor, to sit in a business location, in front of your computer, in CROWDED TABLES receiving new students each month, and others giving up the week after. Students are complaining behind closed door, afraid to receive backlashes from mentors.

Management NEVER replied to our emails, the turnaround at the headquarter is terribly high, guess why.
The curriculum in class was maybe well priced at 4000$ few years ago, but they bumped the price and extended to play among the BEST worldwide bootcamps , but they are providing VERY POOR services.

I won't even start with their not updated websites ( so many broken links), tons of youtube videos, old case-studies. Mostly R, when the environment is fast pace, and Python should be added. Their AWS training is shameful, one week to learn AWS. Furthermore, beyond student fees , we had to pay more for AWS practice.

Well, Job support, IN THE NETHERLANDS, THERE HAVE 0 SUPPORT, NO NETWORK, We met some past students, they are still job hunting. You job hunt, apply to a certain number of applications you found on your own...

Management should pay us back some tuitions, we paid full tuitions for in-class and half was done online ( we all suffer from Covid financial cost, use dour savings, not able to find a job etc)

During this pandemic, I am learning the same or more from Free Online material! I thought my 9900euros will provide me with more tools, I was fooled by their marketing.

Here is the 9900 euros favorite "story telling" methodology from Ubiqum :

- we're 2 mentors at most, over a dozen students; each group has a different starting date. So, please book a 15 mns appointment max. daily.
- here are your 10000 youtube videos and tons of free online material gathered for you. And, you have access to Ubiqum website right? Cool, just follow the plan of attack and drink tons of coffee if available!
- hey, a presentation of the project is expected, a bit earlier than scheduled. Sorry, for that one, we have to be on schedule. Just do it, everything will make sense after the bootcamp. May the forces be with you!

And, oh please do not bother us unless you really want us to avoid you, follow the plan of attack, finish the projects. We are mentors and not teachers. "HERE AT UBIQUM WE DO NOT TEACH THE THEORY". Go back to your seat, we have to prepare more space for the upcoming newbies, go back to our own learning too, and enjoy some chats etc.

Okay, soooo no theory. Then tons of practice and surely plenty of work experience that could serve us, right?!
After hearing the feedbacks given by the mentors to some students far more 'experienced' than them, I got my answers.

Even in the Netherlands, none of us dare to be direct. It Is funny how the Web development students envy the apparent 'structured' Data Analytics department. We bite our tongue too long, expecting things to get better.
Unfortunately, the 10days refund period is gone. Anyways, I am still waiting for a reply from the head office in Spain. So, who am I kidding?
My money is so gone, and good luck finding a job in the field within 6 months per as Ubiqum ads with my current skills.

Total scam. It's a 'school', shoved in an office space, with 'mentors' from Spain. This is a place where your 'mentor' doesn't come on time to work. When he does, he doesn't apologizes for being late. On top of that, he is rude. Also, he is not a real... Read More mentor. Ubiqum has FORMER STUDENTS working for them, people with 0 experience in an actual coding company. I did the course in Amsterdam, where not a single person from the staff speaks Dutch, and are pretty ignorant about how the Netherlands works. It was a really bad surprise. On top of a very disorganized everything, the company doesn't have any structure or hierarchy: nowhere to complain about bad treatment, bad program, awful service. You can forget about them being professional, and apparently having a customer service for people that are paying them thousands of euros is not an option.

The program itself is horrible. 2500 euro of the price said it was for workshops. Our group had 2 in total in the 3 months we spent there. If you consider going to this place, which I strongly would advice against, know that NO ONE FINISHES THE COURSE IN THREE MONTHS, because it's impossible to do so. Also, to make things sadder, they give the certificate to everyone, except to the people that complain to them. I am one of those, because I called them out for their lies, bad program, irresponsible and dreadful behavior from 'mentors', and I don't have a certificate. The things you read on their page are not true. They do not have a network of companies in the Netherlands, pictures on Instagram and posts in general about anything in Amsterdam are completely misleading. Trying to reason with the main office in Barcelona was also a fruitless effort. They ignore emails, are very rude, and don't discuss refunds besides being aware of horrible service. I feel very strongly for losing my money to this place, and I hope no one has to go through it again. So no, I would not recommend it, if you appreciate your time and your thousands of euros.

In class program is a total rip off compared to the Top worldwide boot camps even listed on that website. 9900€ for:
- a disorganized structure, and in reality at least 1/3 of the class online and not in class (holidays, remote)..
- a bad administration,... Read More a non responsive management. They're all about enrolling more students; and once done "dead silent".
Hopefully I got out asap, otherwise I would have been crying over my money like few unlucky pals!

My friend freshly Biologist graduated followed this program when it was 5000$ and 4 months few years ago. And it was a nice break under the nice Spanish weather. Though, she finally pursued a Master, R was definitely an asset.
She found the mentors helpful,... Read More the administration responsive. But having a discount along with some financing to pay the tuitions, was the deal maker.
Thus, keen to transition into Analytics, I looked into few bootcamps around Amsterdam. But, the 9-12 weeks training, and the pre-selection I noticed at the Wagon for example were scary. Ubiqum was accessible without selection, has 20weeks and proposed some financings. And, I knew someone who did it.
For the Dutch location, It has started all professional, then within 2 weeks it was disorganized to my liking, garbage!!!Maybe that is why I notice some students disappearing??????
- 3/5 for the content: tons of broken links + materials already all over online. The course is mainly R (Python is a 3 weeks optional course at the end of the curriculum).
- 2/5 for assistance: No administrative support after paid tuition. Anyways, there is no administration in our location per se. And, right now, even on the main campuses in Spain!
There are only 2 mentors (not speaking Dutch, with okay English) assisting over a dozen students. 10 thousands to "learn by doing" ( meaning sitting all day on your own, figuring the shit) and NOT disturb the mentors next to you so often, book a 30minutes max. appointment...
Why 10 000 euros, when you can follow the online course for 5500euros, and, still book appointments with the mentors??
- 3/5 for the job search. Good energy, seminar and help on the CV. Still applying actively. But so far, the market is telling me that, I wasted money.

When looking for a coding bootcamp I thought the 5-month in class Ubiqum program, with their financing plan and the support in finding a job, was the best fit. I thought about sunny Spanish locations but I attended the bootcamp in Amsterdam, the job market... Read More was more promising. The bootcamp curriculum and website content gives you the structure you lack when learning on your own. With no specific experience in Machine Learning, R coding and statistics, I could relate to the mentors. They were both recent graduates of the same program. Expect unlimited self-google learning resources, tons of frustration in the process. On top of that, the ratio of students to mentors is way off. I noticed 2 mentors for groups that ranged between 10-20 students during the bootcamp. This resulted in limited interaction between students and mentors through a daily appointment of 15 minutes. For more questions, you’d better randomly stop a mentor, though it did not seem to be appreciated. I saw students dropping out, coming less often. A lot said that the Spanish locations were somehow better. I think they should consider Python coding. At the end of the day, if you're a good self-learner you should opt for the online version at 5500 euros of the bootcamp and save yourself the money. The 20-week bootcamp was only really 13 weeks at 9900euros. The promise of finding a job in Amsterdam after graduating from this bootcamp solely was not realistic. De content daargelaten heeft het bootcamp een paar grote gebreken. Ten eerste zijn er niet genoeg mentoren. Er waren twee mentoren voor een klas die tijdens het bootcamp tussen de 20 en 30 studenten groot was. Dit leidde ertoe dat studenten per dag een afspraak van 15 minuten konden maken om vragen te stellen. Verzoeken voor een tweede afspraak werden niet op prijs gesteld. Dit probleem wordt nog eens verergerd door het lage kennisniveau van de mentoren. De mentoren waren allebei recent afgestudeerd van hetzelfde bootcamp. Zodra vragen iets verder gingen dan de specifieke content van het bootcamp konden ze weinig toevoegen. Ook beschikten ze over weinig kennis over de statistiek die ten gronde ligt aan de opdrachten in de content. De garantie op een baan die Ubiqum geeft is ook onrealistisch. Het bootcamp is een goede aanvulling op een bestaande skillset maar als je alleen een bootcamp van 20 weken volgt (met maar 12 weken coding) kom je niet ver.

I took the MERN bootcamp at Ubiqum Barcelona, I had a good experience, one of the most important things in the bootcamp is that you are not going to learn only to code but also to work in a tech company as the bootcamp is oriented to the job market. They also have the "boosting my career" program where you are taught how to write your cv, networking, and doing interviews, the career service includes also meetings with hiring partners. I recomend Ubiqum but with the warning that the program is really intensive and requires commitment.

I totally recommend Ubiqum bootcamp, it's aimed at teaching you the most popular technologies nowadays and I found the learning-by-doing method very effective to learn thinking in programming and problem-solving. You can accomplish it without any previous coding knowledge, the mentors are always available to help you in understading and solving along with you any queries you could have.
They support you in the process of job hunting, helping with social profiles (ex. LinkedIn, GitHub), networking, mock interviews and with the building of your professional identity.
It requires some hard-working but it definetly worths it!
