The Ubiqum experience is unique for the learning methodology. They use a “Project Based", 100% practical methodology. No lectures, no subjects, no exams. Only practical work constantly supervised by a personal mentor. You “learn by doing” and when you finish you have your own portfolio of projects to show to recruiters.
During the program, students work as a professional from day one, taking on the role and tasks of either a junior developer or analyst, thus preparing them for work in such fields.
After completing between 12-20 weeks of practical, 'learn by doing' training in either data analytics or web development, the students acquire in-demand, specific technical skills that are 100% transferable to the workplace.
Students can choose either an onsite program in Barcelona, or a remote (online) learning option. Both in person, and online paths include professional mentor support and professional career services.

"Change your mindset and get prepared for the digital transformation"
The program is adapt only to those who are good at self-learning and self-improvement. Moreover, you should change your way of learning things and at Ubiqum you do that every day. Always applying theory to experience makes the lessons learned stick with... Read More

"Great place and great way to learn coding"
I did the 5-month full-stack java course at Ubiqum Amsterdam. The reason I chose for Ubiqum and not for one the many other coding bootcamps in Amsterdam is the learn-by-doing method they apply here. No classical lessons and exams, but real-life projects... Read More

"Great place to start if you want to enter the tech industry.."
I am attending the MERN full stack course at Ubiqum. So far the experience has been great. Ubiqum focuses on 'Learn by doing' which makes you start coding right on Day 1. The program is also heavily based on Agile methodology, so you are exposed to the... Read More

"I spent longer *thinking* about changing my career, than I actually did changing it."
My "people-skills" career had been pissing me off for years because I was longing for doing *things*, rather than entertaining endless email conversations. It got to the point where I was dreading opening my emails and basically became incapable of doing... Read More
As you can tell, I'm really happy with my choice to enroll at Ubiqum. I had tried learning to code (lol, #learntocode) on my own a year before joining Ubiqum, but I didn't feel I was progressing and I had too many open questions, so I gave it up.
I can't really compare Ubiqum to other bootcamps, because I haven't been to them, but what I can tell you is this. Ubiqum's methodology simply works. Ubiqum claims that over 90% of their graduates find a programming job within two months of graduation. In my case it was even better. They helped me find a job two months BEFORE I graduated. Not even joking.
All in all I spent over two years dreaming about a different career and then it took like 3-4 months to actually go ahead and change it.
Here are some caveats:
- it wasn't easy and there were plenty of times when I was really frustrated and wanted to rip my hair out. (Lol, it was still way better than working in marketing).
- 5 months into my full-time programming job, I don't feel like I'm solid developer yet. I'm working on improving every day, but I still have a long way to go.
Basically a coding bootcamp is just that - a bootcamp. You don't become a navy seal after surviving the army bootcamp. So you won't be a fully-fledged programmer when you graduate Ubiqum. But you'll get some really good training, which will be DEFINITELY enough to land you an entry-level programming job. In 5 months.

"I would do it again"
I have just finished the bootcamp at ubiqum and I couldn't feel happier about it.
The bootcamp was great in many ways - I have learned and grown a lot (professionally and personally) over the past 5 months.
It is a very intensive and complete program.... Read More
I would highlight 2 points of my experience:
1) Mentorship was topnotch - The mentors team was very balanced in expertise but also in soft skills. They were available when I needed them and, more importantly, they never told me how to do anything. Every time I was stuck with something, I would book a calendly / 15-min meeting with one of them and they would guide me through the problem and would help me find a way out. But they never did anything for me.
2) Program is complete in many ways - The program is well structured and organised. The working methodologies used (such as agile) were incredibly helpful and have changed my way of working. I have not only learned a lot of hard skills (machine learning and data analytics) through the projects we had, but also in terms of organisational and communication skills. Its a project based learning method - for each project, we had a different deliverable (from written reports to oral presentations to different audiences).
I have just started working as a data scientist in a start-up in Barcelona, after having done my final project with them. The bootcamp at Ubiqum proved its entire value on my first week there. I knew a lot more than what is expected in a junior position and I had the skills to overcome any problem.
I am very happy with the decision of taking the bootcamp - 5 months have given me a new carreer as a data scientist in a very cool industry (plus a lot of good friends).

"From zero to hero"
After being in the Sales and Management field for 8 years, the feeling of "career paralysis" finally struck me. Uninspired and unfulfilled by work, I realised I wanted something more intellectually stimulating - a challenge! Well, doesn't a coding BOOTCAMP... Read More
Most coding bootcamps teach you how to code (yes, that sounds about right..), BUT Ubiqum teaches you how to code to build products that work (MVPs), from day one. Ubiqum is not your traditional educational institution, it simulates a real-life working environment where you operate as a junior developer; understanding client requirements and meeting project deliverables on time.
Be warned: some days you sit for hours, internally screaming and cursing at your computer screen, wondering if you have made the right career change, but you also have moments where things just click and you're making a web application like a hero! It's not an easy ride, but you get out what you put in. You'll be learning things you never even heard of before in the morning, struggling with it throughout the day, then the penny drops and you're problem solving by the afternoon. I'm saying this as a complete novice, with zero computer experience prior to the course, to now being able to code front-end with confidence. I'm now mid way through, and just started with back-end, once I'm done this will qualify me as a full-stack developer where Ubiqum career service will facilitate to help you land your first job! It truly is a well designed, all-round package. Best decision and investment I've made to date.
Oh, and shout out to the mentors! The people, support and culture in Ubiqum are second to none!
We apologise if unrealistic expectations for our Full Stack Java program were set, of course you can't learn all there is know about Java in 5 months. It would take many lifetimes. Our course is designed to equip students with the basic skills in Java... Read More
Unlike other code academies that emphasise broad coverage of coding technologies, our priority is that our students learn to think like coders. We recognise that our pedagogy sometimes comes at the cost of a vast coverage of the contemporary coding skills but when our students leave they are able to learn them on their own.
We believe our 5-month program is the best way to launch a new career as a front-end or full stack developer but we recognise that 5 months is not the end of the learning journey but the beginning.
Given the difficulty that many students find learning Java in 10 weeks, we have recently launched a second full-time program where students learn modern full stack architecture: Mongo, Express, Node, and React.
Our most important concern at Ubiqum is the experience of our students, both during and after our programs. Please feel free to contact us to set up a time to have a more in-depth conversation about your personal experience and what we can do to support you.
