I am not a new comer to the digital age of education. I am a graduate of a few other online education universities. What separates Woz-u is the community, and assistance they offer. As we progress through the program of choice. We often have question... Read More or forbid PROBLEMS! How do we overcome them? We reach-out to our fellow students or mentors on Slack on communication portal. This part blew me away. This is not even considered by other places I have attended. Well I have been through a few other boot camp programs, they are only interested in getting you through. Woz-U mentors not only offer a way to solve the problem, but they actually take the time to make sure we are clear to get to the next project with flying colors.

My overall consideration to send people I know to Woz-U is 100% yes. If you want to be able to learn some of the most popular technical skills Woz-U is your best bet for success. Thank you and keep making education awesome Woz-U!

After many months of searching for a fullstack web developer bootcamp I happened upon a place called Woz U run by Apple, Inc. co-founder Steve Wozniak. Already in my sixth week of the 33 week program I have been learning and coding in html, css, javascript... Read More and jquery. To say this program is a diamond in the rough would be an understatement. The staff calls students, members and members, family. Well, it truly is like a family and a functional one at that. There are ten course blocks, each three weeks long and along the way there are quizes and practical "hands on" assignments where you get to test your coding abilities. Along the way if you have difficulty you are assigned a mentor but you can have access to any of the dozens of mentors as well as instructors. Nearly every day there are live classes held where you can interact with the instructor and if you miss a class you can watch it recorded on vimeo. By the way, there are over 300 recorded classes and this is a 700 hour program where you are expected to devote at least 20 hours per week in study but I have found I need at least 30 hours devoted to the program in order to keep up because it is very fast paced, especially for a person with no coding experience, but with peoples help including instructors, mentors and even other students, you can get a quick response to your queries on the slack channel usually within five minutes and all of my questions have been answered in a timely manner. Woz U is truly a dynamic 21st century learning environment and I am honored to be associated as a member/student with the school. Just as an aside, the school is title iv which means federal funding is available as well as genorous grants from Woz U as long as you commit a minimal amount financially. All in all, I give Woz U a 10+ out of ten stars. It is a life enhancing program designed to bring people with little or no experience to junior web developers in 33 weeks. I am looking forward to learning more and each day is a new day at Woz U.

I ran through the full stack software development in Java, having to take longer than 33 weeks due to lack of or incorrect learning materials. I also had major issues finding support either from the instructor or any mentors (at the time there may have... Read More been 2-3 for the entire leg of full stack software development section, typically comprising of what I'd expect to be 100-200 students). I was threatened with expulsion due to lack of progress in my training which, in effect, was a self inflicted wound by Woz U. I was stressed all the time about deadlines and not understanding the material and actually got past the most difficult section, I believe, out of either sympathy at the best, or ensuring I'd be liable for the whole tuition at the worst (you can request a refund based on course completion percentage...if you complete 100% you can't request any refund). I was naive at the time and thought that if I just got through the certification that showed I'd passed the rigors of training, I could get a job that would further train me and strengthen my skills. God was I wrong. Not only was the last part grueling with a group project where I had to pretend I knew what I was doing due to lack of any real reinforcement of skills, but I had to deal with an instructor who didn't seem to be willing to understand or care how half-baked some of the lessons we took were and how little we'd gained towards software development competency.

Is this course worth the full tuition? Hell no.

I'd be feeling a lot better if I only paid $300 for this since that's pretty much all it may be worth to me. I'm nowhere closer to a software development career than I was before. There are very few mentors at any point to assist, the instructors act like you're supposed to already know this stuff, and the material is so convoluted and packed you need to have had 2-3 years padt experience to seemingly understand it.

Don't even get started on career services. They basically outright lied stating they had connections in the industry and that employers are lining up to hire Woz U grads. Nope. Never happened to me. Applied to all the positions I could regarding entry level software development. Not a single call back or email requesting an interview. My assigned career counselor shoved a bunch of youtube and clickbait articles my way about interviewing. He also gave me several search results off of indeed.com that I had already done myself. Never did a resume review.

At this point, I am staring at a larger pool of student loan debt with no forseeable way of paying it down quickly thanks to Woz U's poor attempt at a bootcamp.

Woz-u is a good school. There is well written course-work, and easy to follow along activities. The finals are a little bit harder, but with help from the mentors at Woz-U, and videos from the instructors, they are easy to understand. I enjoy the learning... Read More environment at Woz-u, and the staff has made me feel welcome from the very first time I sent them my contact information. They are very supportive of my educational goals, and they check up on me every so often. The enrollment was simple, and financial aid was not hard to come by. It's great that it is an accredited school, and that I can take my degree where ever I go. I look forward to finishing my coursework. I have about 3 classes left, and I am definitely excited to start a new career or dig deeper into coding or computer science.

I just started a journey to a new education and learning. This class was exactly what I needed to start off on the right foot. I have attended community college and a Big 10 University, and this program is by far the best.

I'm in to the program 10% and already see a marked improvement from other offerings and my own experience learning a 4 year liberal arts BS in Business and Management via online courses. Woz U directly links learning objectives with ones needed outside... Read More academics by providing industry standard coursework material that is continually evolving, and making resources available after graduation so one may stay up-to-date; And Woz U fosters networking among students online --One of the most important benefits a school provides to alumni. I see these in action with other students in the Woz U learning portal. Bravo. And Thank you for being there. PS. I goofed some registration documents, and the team was very responsive in helping sort it all out.

I was in the middle of taking courses at Woz U when I found out they just lost their license! And they are not accredited! So basically I just got ripped off by this place. It is just total chaos here. I feel like I got really really ripped off. First... Read More of all, the courses are just regular stuff that you can basically learn yourself just by reading internet articles. But they charge you major tuition and now I have a lot of debt I cant afford. The only reason I signed up is that they called me daily for weeks on end and just pressured me to sign up and I was depressed and out of work so in a moment of weakness I enrolled but when I did it I had an inner voice that warned me but I ignored it. I should have listened as this place is a total ripoff and fake. It has nothing to do with Wozniak, who is just a name on the school, I guess they paid him or gave him owner shares or something. Anyway now I have more debt and I haven't learned anything. They say the positive reviews are fake and written by people they know. A huge mistake on my part. I wish I could get my money back.
