The course was fast-paced, considering the course is only 3-4 months, which can be a bit overwhelming at times. Read More part of the reason why I chose this course, the opportunity to work on real projects from real clients, so you know whether you are truly prepared for the work you are expected to handle. I wish there were more projects and chance to demonstrate our skills, would teach you more about other tools and software you might need to know. But overall, I am satisfied with the course. It is also worth mentioning that you are welcomed to ask the tutors for tips, or even book an appointment with them after the course ends, to help with jobs hunting and interviews. It is worth it if you are looking switch career and learn the essentials in a short amount of time.

Read More most appealing to me, being able to connect with the actual world and gain hands-on experience. :::Great Mentorship::: In addition to a well-thought out course, I really enjoyed the mentorship! My mentors were fantastic resource while I worked through the projects. They provided constructive feedback on my projects, and pushed my design thinking. Overall, their help and suggestions really improved my initial designs and got them to a point where I was really proud of what I had created. :::Peer Learnings::: We had a partner exercise where we were paired up randomly with one or two classmate to discuss about the task or activity given. I enjoyed this part of the course as I got to meet new people each week and learnt about their working life and experiences (Yup, but classmates were from different background, which you might need to be more patient when collaborating). It was interesting to be given a hands on opportunity to apply the knowledge taught during the lesson and from there, we'd know if we had truly understood the lesson. ::: Career Support::: Another reason of choosing Xccelerate was their career support included in the bootcamp package. However, because of COVID, the job fair was cancelled and all the career-related workshops were moved online. Although the career coach was there to answer questions and to guide you if you have questions, I still hope that Xccelerate can at least connect us with the recruiters or any interview opportunities. This part was missing from my expectations. :::Advice::: Eventually, I ended up taking a UX job at an insurance company after a-month job hunting. I knew it wasn't going to be easy going into the bootcamp, which ended up being very true. I had doubts along the way, but ultimately I feel I made the right choice and I'm closer to a career I am passionate about than ever before. It’s really up to you on whether or not you succeed. Not everyone in the class have completed the programme. It requires time, huge efforts and determination. To anyone who are interested to have a career switch, I would suggest you to understand what is UXUI before deciding to study in a bootcamp - it might sound “fancy” at first and do you think you can find your passion in this career? Overall, I would definitely recommend Xccelerate for anyone interested in moving into the UX/UI career path. You learn a great foundation of skills to build upon. I look at it as the first step in a better direction and I am so happy I took it.

I completed the Part Time User Interface course in March and could not be happier with the results! Before joining the course, I had no design skills and seriously lacked creative thinking. It was such a fun learning experience which has really helped me in my job and day-to-day life. I am now a confident and regular user of Figma and find myself creating cool designs that I'm really proud of! In my role as an Events Coordinator, it has helped me become more efficient and creative when it comes to creating event banners and artwork - and it's also helped me improve my copywriting. I'm really proud of the app I created in the course and appreciate all the support from the instructor! Our instructor went above and beyond to also educate us on the fundamentals of UX and careers within the UX/UI field. The best part was that he tailored the classes to our needs and learning goals. This course is perfect for anyone who wants to improve their has the goal of designing their own app, improve design skills, or simply wants to build on their creative mind!

The Xccelerate Data Science Bootcamp is a full-time 16 week immersive program designed to fast track career transition for serious candidates. Overall my experience was very good although the curriculum gradually progressed from manageable to challenging... Read More as we moved to more Advanced Data Science, Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts but that was to be expected. Throughout the course, we had support of instructors who checked in on us with our various assignments, exercises and projects to ensure we were on track. There were also few sessions for collaboration with other bootcamp students from software engineering and UI/UX design so we get a feel of how different teams work together to work on an end-to-end project. The team mates in my cohort were all dedicated and helpful. Due to this reason, I was motivated to finish and complete my projects and deliver a capstone project that we could be proud of as a team. I would definitely recommend this but just want to emphasise to new comers planning to take this bootcamp that they shouldn't treat this as a shortcut to getting a job. It is not an easy journey and you need to put in the hours and work throughout this bootcamp and once you do you'll realise how far you have come along and won't have any trouble cracking the interview and landing a job.

Having not much experience of coding when I started this boot camp I didn’t know what to expect, 16 weeks of training later I now feel confident that I could get an entry level position in coding with this knowledge. Read More history of web development and it's been well selected to give you a very hands on approach and practical knowledge of real world coding in Hong Kong. It was quite intimidating to start with and it seemed like some course content was out of date, but as the course progressed I learned that this is the reality of coding, things are constantly changing and these constant updates are just part of the real world working environment. The true value in this course was it’s instructors. I completed the “Front end web development” course with Sam O’Shaughnessy and it was clear to me that he and his team are genuinely invested in your success, after 16 weeks Sam was still present everyday and often stayed late to help any students with problems. On top of this they have a healthy community environment it’s very well run by their community manager Rachel Wang who has worked hard to create a relaxed atmosphere where people of all personalty's feel included. She spares no effort in organizing events for the students and if her daily enthusiasm could be taught it would be worth its own 16 week course. All in all, this experience was far beyond what I expected when I joined the course and would happily recommend it to anyone looking to prepare for a career change or just develop their coding skills.

The course is very comprehensive, it provides students with all the learning materials they needed to become an all-rounded UX/UI designer after 4 months. Plus, I really enjoyed the opportunity to work with other students from Data Science and Web Development cohorts through the Hackathon. This gives me a better understanding of how different teams collaborate and work together on the same project in a real workplace. It was fun and practical!
