I decided to take Xccelerate’s Bootcamp offline just to meet my tutor and my classmates on-site. Everyone here is open-minded and self-motivated. Every day we find new questions and challenges yet we are thrilled to tackle them. Tutors are also a key player in the on-site experience as they are there to help and keep pushing you to strive for better. You will be missing a lot if you don’t come back to campus. Instructors and staff here are like family to us. They are always available to sit down and listen to your concerns, from things we found hard to comprehend in course to things we worried about in our future career, they are very resourceful to support us in different departments.

Furthermore, it is also a great idea to record the lectures and upload them on shared drive, so that I can recap the lectures without the concern on missing something during lectures. However, in my personal opinion, it will be really appreciated if the lecturer could upload the exercise solutions to the shared drive as well. Otherwise, I think it is trouble some to ask questions one by one via Slack. Overall, I think the course is well structured and the materials are well presented; the lecturer is also very friendly and approachable. It is a tremendous syllabus for a part-time course, and it's impossible to acquire all the content in a 2-hour lesson twice a week. Learner must be mentally prepared to reserve your time further studying the content out of the class.

Earlier this year I decided to leave the architecture industry and move into the computer science field. Having always been fascinated by technology and design I ended up enrolling for the Software Engineering course.

Pros:
- An intensive schedule: Official... Read More class hours is from 9am until 6pm Monday to Friday. This comprises a 2 hour lecture in the morning and the rest of the time spent is hands on coding. But the reality is that you will be working until about 9-10pm every day and working on your weekends. This is the best way to learn to code and catch you up to a job ready level but not everyone will be able to handle this intensity.
- Very helpful and approachable staff: Everyone, from the CEO to the interns, was very engaged with the students and tried to make us feel like we were part of a larger community. Xccelerate will help to connect you to potential employers, review your job applications and help you network in the field if you so desire. Rather than getting a job, I was able to start my own software engineering firm (RH-Studio) with one of my classmates with with support from Xccelerate.
- Some lifelong friends: Much like going into the army, your fellow students in this boot-camp will become like family to you. You will very quickly get to know everyone very well and make some amazing friends.

Cons:
Mixed messaging: As I was not very experienced in Computer Science I had slightly different expectations of a Software Engineering course. In reality this is a Web Development course only and you don't touch other elements like mobile applications or independent software creation.
Prep-work: People need to do the prep work before the course starts otherwise they will fall behind very quickly. There needs to be a better system in place to ensure that this is complete prior to the course beginning.

If you are a hard worker then you will have no problems taking this boot-camp and transitioning your career, and you might just have a great time doing it as well.

There will be a lot of marketing material about how this course will change your life, and how they will help you get there. They will sell you as a solution but simply put the support is not there. Read More points you, I would say generally in a very correct direction, and that I did go through it and did complete it, but not many of my class mates did make it. And there was not much care that they didn't, after all they did already pay for the course anyways so whatever right? Additionally they would sell you on CV workshops, interview preps, and so much more. I only had a single CV workshop which was not better, if not worse than one I received in High school, and had to reach externally to another bootcamp leader for interview prep help. Did I managed to learn about coding? Yes, yes I did, but thats the extent of what this course does. But you need to dedicate your time 100% to it, and do even more out of class to even be entry job ready. As about job support? just don't expect anything and you'll never be disappointed.
