The instructors really understand that life can get hectic, and they're always willing to work with students to ensure that everyone has the best chance of success. If you're serious about getting ahead in the tech industry, this program is definitely the way to go!

Slack provided a lot of contact between students and instructors although the program is entirely online. I could always find someone who was willing to answer my questions. The course was also well-organized, thanks to David, our instructor. He was very clear in his explanations and always patient when we had questions. The community of instructors and students at YellowTail Tech was great.

We’re almost done with our regular classes and we're about to get into cert prep and I really like the flow that Yellow Tail Tech has. The instructors are very hands-on in training us. We’re very guided and unlike other schools, we have a lot of instructors... Read More so we can get different perspectives and different ways of solving problems so I really like that. I was a bit reluctant in joining Yellow Tail Tech before because I have been into several boot camps already but I didn’t really learn much from them. When I came to Yellow Tail Tech I just loved the passion that they have for helping us get a career in tech. So that really made me think that I’m doing something that’s valuable for myself, having a career, and becoming financially independent. Those are my goals and I can’t wait to achieve them. For people who are still undecided about what career to take, you should give IT a chance and it will change you for the better. I chose to have a career in tech and I’ve grown so much compared to who I am many months ago, it’s just great!

The program structure and course materials at Yellow Tail Tech are perfect for people who want to become an IT professional but don’t have a background in tech. The instructors also made sure that we understood the lessons and they were always ready to answer any questions. They provide a lot of tips and methods. I like that I just have to post a question on Slack, and anyone who can see it can answer and show me how it’s done so there’s really a lot of interaction. I love photography as a hobby but I’m not paid much and I barely have any customers since there are already a lot... My friend told me that IT is the biggest thing nowadays and that people who work in the IT industry are not financially affected by it. I was scrolling through TikTok and I saw this Tech influencer discussing tech. I couldn't understand it because I’m not tech-savvy and I have no interest in tech whatsoever but then he told us about his salary and I was just blown away. I immediately searched on google and that’s when I found Yellow Tail Tech. Yellow Tail Tech made me proud of my achievements, when I passed the Red Hat certification they gave me a shoutout and I’m just really proud of myself at that time. They even helped me get my internship. After finishing all my tickets, they helped me prepare my resume and optimize my LinkedIn profile. After submitting a lot of applications after like a month I was offered 3 positions from different companies, and I was very happy. Read More very positive experience in the Linux for Jobs program. The instructors are incredibly educated about the topics and they really go above and beyond to ensure that we really get the topic. I like that it’s really interactive, I can see my instructors and I can ask a question and get an immediate answer. The program is very well-structured, there's a schedule of topics that we need to finish at a specific time so it doesn’t make me lazy to practice the concepts. There were also review sessions during the weekend, it’s just optional it’s okay if you join and it’s okay if you don’t. I really like the review sessions because whatever I didn’t get during that week’s class I make sure that I already got it during the review sessions. I also ask a lot of questions during this review so that’s why I like it too. Yellow Tail Tech gave students like me a chance at getting a career that will give us the freedom to work anywhere.

They're not just some teachers who are studying a book, they really know how it’s done in the field and I really like that. Knowing that my instructors are also working in the IT field gives me confidence. Yellow Tail Tech provides high-quality training and it shows in their process from enrollment to helping students set up in class and the other activities they provided us. They’re just amazing and I’m really glad I decided to change to a career in tech.

There’s a lot of information that you have to remember but what helped me memorize them is just practice. That’s what our instructors taught us to practice so later on it will just become like muscle memory. Shifting to another career is really hard work, you really need to put in a lot of effort. Yellow Tail Tech helped ease my anxiety because I really don’t have a fallback plan, I mean if I don’t succeed in becoming a Linux System Administrator I have nothing to go back to. So I just followed their lead. I studied and then when it came to the cert prep I doubled my efforts. I wouldn’t make it through if I didn’t get any help from my instructor Allan, and my TAs, especially Alberto. They just made sure I learned the depth of the lessons, and that really helped me pass my exam and learn my way around Linux. I would highly recommend to everyone to look into Yellow Tail Tech and their programs because they will really surprise you.

Read More was just perfect if you really want to succeed in IT. I like that it’s not self-paced because I have a goal to learn this kind of thing and make sure that I am not behind in class. I’m kind of competitive and I also have classmates who are competitive like me so I really made sure to study like everyone else, and whenever there are questions thrown in the Slack channel if I know it I would immediately respond, I just want to be like someone my classmates can count on. The instructors are very knowledgeable on the topics, and though the materials are kinda technical they try to make it light for us so it’s really perfect for people with no IT background.
