Similar to but not the same as Adobe Illustrator, Sketch is a design tool that is used for visual design, user interface (UI) design, and user experience (UX) design. Learning how to use Sketch makes it possible to create website mockups and clickable prototypes within one program quickly. Sketch files export to different formats, including SVG, PNG, JPEG, and PDF, depending on the use case. Students in a Sketch course or bootcamp generally learn the basics of the software, how to work with key tools (e.g., art-boards, object styles, symbols, and vector drawing), and fundamental workflows for UI and UX design.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) hasn’t yet mapped the job outlook for the emerging specializations of UI and UX design. However, the average salary offered for a UI designer on Glassdoor is $73,000. For graphic designers, the BLS reports an average salary of $50,370 per year, or a pay rate of about $24 per hour, with an expected growth rate of 3% by 2028.

Bootcamps and courses are available for both beginners and experienced designers who want to familiarize themselves with Sketch. Below are reviews written by people who have already participated in them.
