Green Fox is a bunch of amateurs with no working or teaching experience. Everything they provide is premisses for you to come to, free wifi, links to youtube videos and no comprehensive help at all. Save your money and find an online course or a better bootcamp elsewhere.

Extremely helpful mentors, psychologist and everybody else is very kind at GFA. They did everything what they promised. You should expect that the course is very hard. I attended Green Fox Academy in the summer of 2017, and I've been working as a Software Developer ever since (2 years at current date).
I got exactly what I expected from the course. I received help in learning a new skill-set that I can turn into a career.... Read More During the course I felt like everyone got as much from the course, as much energy they put into it. I gave it 100% and I was satisfied with the result. I immediately fount a job as a junior full stack developer, and I'm still working at that same company.
Sometimes people complained that the mentors leave us alone for too much time, that may be true and I partially agree, but as an optimist I always looked at it as an opportunity to figure out stuff for myself. You will be forced to figure out things without help as a software engineer in real life as well.

Greenfox doesn't worth the money!

I was a student and I finished this year and I was in Java English class. I feel that this organisation is highly overpriced when I compared the value of the course with the money I had paid.
Firstly, I have to mention... Read More that the quality of English used by in this organisation is built around "fuck" if you participate lectures you will hear that there is no sentence without "fuck" word. This word is the replacement for all verb, noun, adjective what they don't know.
The curriculum is not bad, however, you can find exactly same tasks in free sources online. Most of the task at Greenfox is just a little bit modified free learning material. Theory learning materials are free YouTube videos and links to other free websites.
Quality of mentors are poor. Most of them has no experience, therefore, asking them is like asking your classmate. Although there are usually 1 good mentor with experience per class, however s/he is available 4 days per week as 1 day (usually Wednesday) they have all day meetings. There is no code review for students, only to those who fails on the first exam. At my first exam, the mentor, who checked it, was quite under-skilled and he cannot examine my test well. He made mistakes and misled me with false information. Moreover, we were 21 student in the class, and the only mentor who has knowledge was extremely busy to answer for everyone's questions. So, it became usual that students helped each other as there were no other option.
When you finished the course you have to wait 3 months to get a job through Greenfox. My experience is that 90% of the job they offer is not software developer job. Mostly consultant jobs for those who speak German too or has pretty appearance. Or even worst on related jobs, but you have to accept them as it is mandatory.
Getting answer for question in general is impossible. They just don't answer at all! I had quite a few question but still no answer at all.

About the price. It is overpriced, almost a scam for this money. As the quality of learning materials are poor as well as most of the knowledge of mentors. The job support is a joke!

But let me tell you a prehistory.
That moment when I was thinking to apply for a bootcamp I was focusing on HH service after tuition. They said it's 95% successful employment with greenfox HR. It bought me, even though... I had only ONE interview view with Nokia during 3 months of head hunters period.
I would say from my sources of information, which is my team-mates, they succeeded on about 25—45% of employing students.

Tuition quality is good enough, great community and energy. But I went there to get a job. It didn't happen.

I never learnt programming before GFA and I was very sceptic about my own abilities. I was influenced one of my friend, he gave me the idea that if I want to change my career coding is a good way to do that. He proposed me the school and the course. And... Read More it was one of my best decision in my life.

Before GFA I worked as an engineer. There were some stuff, what I could use in the course thankfully, but as I mentioned before, I was one of the very few people who had zero experience. And after just a few weeks, I didn't felt that I'm behind the others and in the end I did it!

What was needed for the succes?
I learnt a lot. Without any question, I learnt more in these months than before the course in total.
We had awsome mentors. They helped us in a lot of ways.
We had an intense and correct syllabus with a lot of training materials.
We had an excellent team.

Summary: it's a great experince and gave a real knowledge. If you are willing to do your part.

The moment my training started I realized that I was surrounded by brilliant people, be it mentors or students, everybody was smarter than me, so I took this as a good sign.

The first two months of training were extremely intense, sometimes with punishing... Read More workloads, but this helped us develop a sense of brotherhood in the class so in the darkest hours we pulled each other through. During the whole course we had two professional psychologists at the ready to help us when we needed help the most.

The mentors went above and beyond to make us understand the concepts we were learning about.

I didn't ask for placement after the end of the course, but I'm feeling very confident in my skills and the ability to learn a lot of new stuff on my own, which I picked up at Green Fox. This school is definitely not for everybody. If you generally get incapacitated by stress or you don't have your home life in order, the whole experience can be extremely taxing, but if you have the right mindset and you get accepted, you're in for the ride of your life. I will never forget the time spent here and I'm extremely grateful for all I took away from the course both in a professional and in a personal sense.

I did a lot of research back when I was looking for a bootcamp and Green Fox Academy seemed like the best choice. And even in hindsight I can honestly say that I still think I made the best decision possible joining GFA.

I believe that self-improvement... Read More and learning is one of the main and most important aspects of life. And I learned a lot. I managed to acquire all the technical skills necessary to call myself a Junior Software Developer. But GFA is not only about coding. I also managed to improve my soft skills which I believe is an important part of the job people tend to overlook.

I think Green Fox Academy offers the 'whole package' necessary to become a developer and I am very grateful for the opportunity to have been able to study there.
And honestly, best indicator of how great they are as a bootcamp is that I already have a job even though the official graduation ceremony is in a few days.

After going through the application process and getting accepted into Green Fox Academy, I realized that I would not have been a good fit for the program.

I think it is a good fit for many, but certainly not all coders.

The application process began with... Read More submitting a resume and answering some questions, as well as choosing what kind of payment option you prefer.

The cheapest one is a prepayment plan that comes with a contract declaring you will work at least six months for one of their partner companies. You are basically guaranteed to get a job from one of them, and you have to take it. If you are really looking for a job, then that could be a good thing, however, you are bound by the contract to accept a job offered by a partner company if it offers at least a certain base salary (which I think is pretty low).

Then, they email you a link to a cognitive test, which you have to do well enough on to go to the next round. If that goes well (I think it does for almost everyone), they call you and set up a time to join a group digital competency test.

The test starts with having you make some extremely easy modifications to some CSS and then moves to a having you explain how a certain randomly chosen algorithm works. The final part is simply coding on Codeacademy.

The testing time itself felt a bit awkward. I completed the first two sections fastly, and most of my time was spent coding on Codeacademy, something I do every day anyway, and could have done from my household. I was told the point of that section was to see how fast you could catch on to a new coding language.

After getting to know the teacher who facilitated the digital group testing, I honestly was not impressed with him. From what I knew of him, he did not have the qualifications I look for in teachers. I want to be taught by highly experienced instructors, and from what he told us, he had only been coding for two years. He also was not familiar with some Ruby code I was working with and seemed to tell me that it worked in a way that I found it did not. I will give him a bit of a break, however, because he said it was his first time facilitating a group session. Regardless, he just seemed unprofessional.

The other teacher present was more experienced (I think he had been coding for five years), but his English skills seemed questionable. If you speak Hungarian then that will obviously not be a problem for you.

I discovered that the depth of teaching simply was not what I was looking for. I think it is best for complete beginners. I had already done a lot of self-study by that time and completed six front-end projects on FreeCodeCamp.

Overall, I think that Green Fox has and will continue to benefit many people. However, inevitably, each applicant must decide if the program is a good fit for him or her, and I found that Green Fox's program is not for me.

I decided to learn at Green Fox Academy because I always wanted to learn programming, but it wasn't so easy by myself, and I already heard that the school is really good. The first 2 months of the education is really hard, it pushes you to your limits,... Read More but you can really learn the basics of programming, and the mentors help you understand the concepts. The psychologists help in processing this learning environment also preparing you in soft skills you will need in a developer environment.

The course is really well structured and in the end of the course it gives you really good problem solving skills in programming.
You will meet a lot of people with similar mindset, and you can find really good friends throughout the course who will also inspire you to improve yourself more.

At the end of the course you will be confident enough that - even though probably slower than with the help of the mentors - in time you can learn almost anything related to programming.
