Hyperyon was a waste of money. The course is very poorly designed. Is it basically a pack with 90 pdfs full of typos. The learning journey is incomplete and missing some basic and important topics you will need on any job application. The differential... Read More is the claimed human reviews and support, which are made by students with no experience, and there was usually a 10-day waiting list to get a 30 min call with a mentor. Mentors are students that didn't necessarily finish the course yet and have no expertise to solve your problems. I had to sign up for Datacamp and Codecademy to learn the basics and be able to finish some tasks at the Bootcamp, as the explanation for their lessons and exercises didn't match the content of the tests. I had to send complaints weekly to the support team because the platform was constantly not working, mistakes were usual, and communication was terrible. Most of my emails were never replied to, and nothing ever got done to fix it. I genuinely think anyone would be wasting their money doing this bootcamp. I did.

Read More criticised by students. Advertised as flexible hours but support is only available Mon-Fri 8 am to 5 pm. If you submit your tasks on Friday evening, the earliest you might get feedback is Monday, making it a real slog to return to old tasks days later. Feedback from markers is very hit and miss as well. Criteria is not made public so you're left to guess what you should be doing, and markers may choose to follow the guidelines or not. Material is both too shallow to give a good understanding, and too narrow to secure a job with. Most focus is put on job seeking from an early time, which is a huge waste of time when you haven't established an understanding of coding. One task is just adding Hyperion to your LinkedIn account!

I was doing a Software Engineering course and it wasn't as smooth as I first thought it would be. I had no experience when I first started that's why it wasn't as smooth/easy. Some of the tasks are not bad but some are very hard, I hit some big walls... Read More at some points, but I didn't give up I guess that counts for something. I was told by the admissions department that this course was suitable for complete beginners. It is not. The course content is written in an overly complicated way, expecting some previous knowledge and a lot of independent research. The examples used... Read More in the course material are so far removed from the compulsory tasks that they are unhelpful. At the end of every reading I feel lost. I have to read the compulsory task and spend hours researching the topic via google before I can even attempt the task. Once your task is reviewed you have to resubmit if it's below 75% correct. You receive your feedback but there is no option to message back to the reviewer. Which means if what they are requesting doesn't make sense or feels unfair you are on your own. I opted for a part time course and made it clear to the admissions department that I would be studying alongside a full time job. I made it clear I would only be able to dedicate 10 hours a week to the course. The pace of the course matched with the amount of research needed outside of the material provided by the course means I would never be able to complete this course within the allotted time. The amount of research needed outside of the course material means the course is a waste of money. I could spend 10 hours a week completing youtube tutorials and reading online forums and learn more than this course. I don't know what I have paid for as I do not feel I will come out of this course in 6 months with any confidence or ability to get a job in this field. They speak a lot about offering lots of support. My experience of the discord channel is the mentors on there don't understand how to teach a beginner. If they can't help you they refer you to book a longer call with a mentor. These calls are available mon-fri in normal working hours. However the availability is never next day which means you are on your own for at least a few days. Also, with managing studies alongside a full time job, it means most of the calls (when there are any available) are at times when I am at work. This course has left me feeling stressed and depressed. And down a lot of money!

I enjoyed my coding journey at HyperionDev, it hasn't been an easy one, but I enjoyed every step of it. Firstly one needs to be excited and willing to put in the work.
