Read More new to programming -you have a full/part-time job -you have family .amoun of time they claim you need to study doe not represent reality, because a lecture on its own lasts at time 3 hours(most of the time it is not justified, simply dragging), then you need to read the study material and when you get to the compulsory tasks you realise that all the information you have been consuming is irrelevant in many scenarios and you start digging the internet. .as part of compulsory tasks they require you to apply for the relevant jobs, bear in mind you do not have any of the skills asked in job descriptions. .a support. they claim it is available at every corner but this is not valid. To get a mentor call in order to get help with a subject, you have to book a week ahead and like in my case, for almost two months these were not available in the evenings, so you are on your own. .inconsitency in expectations, for some reviewers your code doe not meet the criteria for others it might be excellent and vice versa. .tasks for the subjects are written on the lap, without an appreciation of what students should know. It is your choice. The purpose of my honest review is to warn aspiring developers and spur improvement in the HyperionDevs program.

I have found the course to be somewhat frustrating due to the lack of support. Mentors are no longer available through Discord which has meant up to a two week wait simply to be able to receive help via a 1:1 call – this is not in line with the quota... Read More of 8 mentor calls per month. On one occasion the mentor was unable to help and said they would speak to a colleague and get back to me – I did not hear back from the mentor despite sending a chaser. On another occasion the mentor was unable to assist during 1:1 call (after waiting two weeks for the appointment) because they had not covered this topic before (Django II). Emailing the support team has meant delays of up to one week, simply to hear that my problem is being looked into. For someone who has no previous coding experience, it is hard to explain the disappointment and frustration at the lack of support/follow up. I had previously raised concerns about falling behind with course work and the response was ‘Please try to catch up as much as you can. You are more than welcome to contact us a week before your support end date to discuss your extension options.’ There have been some improvements, such as more realistic submission dates for course work (despite two of the tasks having dates that are beyond my 6 month course duration). Whilst I have been enjoying the course content and the reward of good feedback/grades following course submissions, the lack of support adds unnecessary anxiety, especially as I approach the final quarter of course. Ultimately, I have lost confidence in their ability to deliver this course.

Hyperyon was a waste of money. The course is very poorly designed. Is it basically a pack with 90 pdfs full of typos. The learning journey is incomplete and missing some basic and important topics you will need on any job application. The differential... Read More is the claimed human reviews and support, which are made by students with no experience, and there was usually a 10-day waiting list to get a 30 min call with a mentor. Mentors are students that didn't necessarily finish the course yet and have no expertise to solve your problems. I had to sign up for Datacamp and Codecademy to learn the basics and be able to finish some tasks at the Bootcamp, as the explanation for their lessons and exercises didn't match the content of the tests. I had to send complaints weekly to the support team because the platform was constantly not working, mistakes were usual, and communication was terrible. Most of my emails were never replied to, and nothing ever got done to fix it. I genuinely think anyone would be wasting their money doing this bootcamp. I did.

Read More criticised by students. Advertised as flexible hours but support is only available Mon-Fri 8 am to 5 pm. If you submit your tasks on Friday evening, the earliest you might get feedback is Monday, making it a real slog to return to old tasks days later. Feedback from markers is very hit and miss as well. Criteria is not made public so you're left to guess what you should be doing, and markers may choose to follow the guidelines or not. Material is both too shallow to give a good understanding, and too narrow to secure a job with. Most focus is put on job seeking from an early time, which is a huge waste of time when you haven't established an understanding of coding. One task is just adding Hyperion to your LinkedIn account!

I was told by the admissions department that this course was suitable for complete beginners. It is not. The course content is written in an overly complicated way, expecting some previous knowledge and a lot of independent research. The examples used... Read More in the course material are so far removed from the compulsory tasks that they are unhelpful. At the end of every reading I feel lost. I have to read the compulsory task and spend hours researching the topic via google before I can even attempt the task. Once your task is reviewed you have to resubmit if it's below 75% correct. You receive your feedback but there is no option to message back to the reviewer. Which means if what they are requesting doesn't make sense or feels unfair you are on your own. I opted for a part time course and made it clear to the admissions department that I would be studying alongside a full time job. I made it clear I would only be able to dedicate 10 hours a week to the course. The pace of the course matched with the amount of research needed outside of the material provided by the course means I would never be able to complete this course within the allotted time. The amount of research needed outside of the course material means the course is a waste of money. I could spend 10 hours a week completing youtube tutorials and reading online forums and learn more than this course. I don't know what I have paid for as I do not feel I will come out of this course in 6 months with any confidence or ability to get a job in this field. They speak a lot about offering lots of support. My experience of the discord channel is the mentors on there don't understand how to teach a beginner. If they can't help you they refer you to book a longer call with a mentor. These calls are available mon-fri in normal working hours. However the availability is never next day which means you are on your own for at least a few days. Also, with managing studies alongside a full time job, it means most of the calls (when there are any available) are at times when I am at work. This course has left me feeling stressed and depressed. And down a lot of money!

I do not recommend this institution, there is better content in Udemy courses for way less than a Quarter of the price. The structure of the course is unorganized as lessons are only taught after you are required to do the task. The chance of you getting... Read More an entry level job is very low after doing the course as they do not teach you enough content. The mentors are overworked with meetings booked weeks in advanced, and there is an average of 1 - 2 weeks wait time for assistance as there are no slots open. Assistance is basically none existent. I do not blame the mentors as they have a number of students to mark.

Do not fall for the fake reviews about Hyperion dev. Do proper research before signing up to this terrible bootcamp. You will waste a lot of money like I did, which I am deeply regretting now. It seems like they have payed people to write good reviews about them and that they block, silence or threaten anyone who writes negative reviews about them. Go and check out Trust pilot and you will see that they have flagged a lot of reviews.. God forbid anyone says anything bad about them or exposes the truth about them.. There is a massive lack of staff it seems so response rate is very slow and support seems non-existent when it is urgent. I have waited up to three weeks to get responses from the student support department, to the point where I had to tag the staff on a Discord group chat to get their attention. The course content somehow seems incomplete as most tasks (especially the capstone projects) do not relate to what has been learned in the 'pdfs'. Also shocking that it is a supposed tech company but they don't even have a proper student dashboard where one can obtain the course material. They basically give you a Dropbox link where you can download pdf files which are highly superficial level. You can teach yourself more from the internet (and for free), and you will get more knowledge than what you can ever get in their incomplete 'pdf' course work. They boast that you will be career ready after taking their bootcamps and almost promise that you will get a job after completing it but most of the student job success is because they hire past students the be teachers and mentors for the next year.

There exists now a huge community of students that are incredibly disillusioned with Hyperiondev. The course is of extremely poor quality, almost no interactivity, extremely limited content and many topics that are advertised are not taught. Hyperiondev... Read More has been silencing students who speak out by kicking them off the course unfairly. On other websites it seems they have been leaving themselves lots of good reviews. If you go on Trustpilot, go on company info, and you can see: over 75% of reviews that they took down, were reinstated by Trustpilot for NOT actually breaking community guidelines.
