I had two bad experiences with the mentors, the problem being lack of communication. Overall the bootcamp is good, the support team and mentors are great at what they do, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

If you are somebody that would like to do this course, go for it the only advice I would give if you are working full time try manage your time properly and follow the instruction. If anyone is struggling with time, please just ask for help the team is amazing. There are always available to help in anyway they can. To be honest you cannot beat the services or the people that I have dealt with from the HyperionDev support team . I would like to thank the entire HyperionDev team for the helpful guidance provided. Personally I enjoyed growing as a developer in this program week after week , and using the latest tech tools, skills and best practices for completing real world projects. The program is challenging but you will definitely be a highly skilled and capable developer. Highly Highly recommended to both tech and non tech people.

A challenging course with the focus on the student learning the content vs the student being spoon fed the content. This forces one to find answers, to think and to troubleshoot. The material and course content is very well laid out with a brief video... Read More introduction to most lessons. The mentor interaction and online support is incredible and one is never left out in the cold feeling like there's no help. Very good. There is room for improvement, in my opinion, with the course content. Often, the material is very outdated leading to frustrating dead-ends following course directives which have been deprecated, or spending valuable time absorbing a method or a concept only to find out that the method concept is no longer used. As frustrating as this is, it does also provide a learning environment in terms understanding the bigger picture and also assists with managing how to trouble shoot and find solutions. If this course has taught me anything, it's that there is always a solution. However, it would help greatly if the content taught is relevant to the current industry best practice. I also feel that the video lessons, and often the course material, is quite surface-level and can entail more detailed info (not just links to mdn) about the subject matter taught especialy considering that the mentors don't assist with answers. However, I am very happy with everything I've learnt up to this point and will definitely suggest this course to anyone who is interested in this topic.

The course started off simply but started to get really tough when you get the next levels (There are 3 of them). I'm doing the online bootcamp so I'm doing this remotely just so you know. What I like about the bootcamp: At the beginning, the support... Read More staff used to call me to check how I was doing every week, so I felt reassured about the bootcamp. They will send you an email if you fall off to check if all is okay. The feedback on the task. This is what I really like the most about the bootcamp because your are told first what you did right, what you can improve and given some resources to further your skills. The available mentor calls. You can schedule a video call with your mentor, you have a limited number, 8 I think per month, to converse with a mentor if you are struggling. This is very important especially when you are confused as to why things are not working. Extra lectures. Besides the study material, there are scheduled lectures to go over the material and even ask questions. If you are a student, its good to be among other students in the video lecture hearing other ask questions and knowing you are not alone in your challenges. What I think can be improved: Although you do have tons of materials, support and extra lecturers, I felt that from Level 2, the material jumps from easily consumable to very difficult. In my opinion, this ramp up is too fast because too many complex material is thrust upon you and I found myself falling behind trying to find resources to explain the basics first of that task, then being able to understand what the task required, and then doing the task. Level 1 should be shortened and greater time be given to the next levels. As I said in the first point, the first level's material is not that complicated, (maybe that's just me), the next levels are really next level and need more tasks and more examples so you can get it and be better equipped. For example, more examples and lessons on how to make your presentations tell the story, not just to create the graphs and explain what they represent and how to get the story across. More engagement on the discord from the lecturers/mentors. I know that usually this a forum to foster student engagement with each other but an appearance from a mentor or lecturer would be of benefit to drive student participation and engage more. I did not feel their presence in the forum but I think their knowledge would have really helped is some of the questions especially queries on the school processes. Would I recommend the bootcamp? Absolutely. The thing is, when learning about development, or being a data scientists, the onus is on you to do the work if you really want to be good at it. As others know, you have to deal with a lot of frustrations. The bootcamp should not really hold your hand but they do at the beginning and then let you do things by yourself with support always at hand. Then they give you a framework so that you know what to do next. Then they give you the right tasks to build your foundation step by step and give you feedback along the way which is reassuring and keeps you on the right track. There are other things they provide you as well which only requires your engagement but this post is way too long already. If you can afford it, this bootcamp should be on your top list.

I am grateful that I chose Hyperion Dev out of all the rest. I have no regrets at all.
