I started following the IOC on Instagram and quickly realized they were serious about coding, teaching and of course, completely legit ;) Being from Canada, I wanted to make sure that traveling all the way to Bali (for a second time) would be worth my energy, time and money. I also really wanted to make sure I would be learning real-world skills from the ground up.

The IOC did not disappoint. I started with very little knowledge of HTML and CSS and in 10 days completely learned how to build a website. And not only how to build a website properly, but beautiful as well. I’m not going to lie—it was intense. There was a lot of knowledge to wrap my head around, but surrounding myself with the right people in the right environment made it completely possible.

I can actually say I learned a new skill set which I continue to grow and build on each and every day since taking their bootcamp. The knowledge Tina and her team bring to the table are second to none. With their support and the amazing community you build during and after the bootcamp, learning to code from the IOC has definitely been one of my most rewarding experiences.

I attend the Institute of Code to befger my understanding of social media and marketing, but came away with so much more. I have worked in Financial Services for over 15 years in Australia, US and Asia and launched my own business as a Business & Digital Strategist 6mths prior to attending Web Dev Intensive at IOC. Read More working with Business Development Campaigns and Digital Marketing strategies was when I was told by Web Dev teams - it can't be done or too hard. I also wanted to have my own business website so I decided to invest in myself travel to beautiful Bali and come back home to Australia with a tan and a website. The support from the IOC team began from my initial enquiry and is still ongoing today. I have a number of dietary requirements due to severe food allergies and this was all taken care of. I did not have to worry about single thing from the moment I arrived in Bali to the moment I left as everything was taken care of for me so all I had to do was learn! As a 40year old mum of two small children, running a business in Sydney this was beyond bliss!!! Potential clients saw from my social media that I was learning to code and reached out to me via linkedIn and I have been inundated with work since and I am now a year on. These clients are major fin tech's, and banks here in Australia as well as a number of clients in the US and UK. Attending this course projected my little business from domestic to international and I took my earnings to 6figures (annually) Yes I thought while I was on the plane (what am I doing this could be dodgy) but I was welcomed and safe. I also thought (I'm too old for this) but I wasn't due to the immersive learning environment I was able to learn fast and enjoyed being the "Digital Dinosaur" Yes I thought about (how my business would suffer with me attending a course for 10 days) however due to the time difference and the supportive course schedule I was able to keep my business running, kept earning money which I was an extra bonus!

Read More course is how much belief the founders and mentors invest in you, and how much one to one attention they give to you.

I came in, sort of clueless, and I left inspired to build a life for myself that would be nothing less than fulfilling. As soon as I returned to England I began applying all of the lessons they taught me, and now 3 months later I am running my own business! On top of all of this, I met and learned the importance of being surround by like minded people - I made some INCREDIBLE friends there, and shared experiences I will never forget.

I thought about doing this course for a LONG time, but was unsure because of finance, trust me, it’s worth every penny! If you’re thinking about it, just do it!

When I stumbled across IOC's Instagram page, something instantly clicked and I just knew that I had to sign up. Their course offered everything that I had been searching for - AND it was within my budget (winning!!)

Travelling to Bali and surrounding myself with likeminded individuals and talented mentors was the best thing that I have ever done. It not only allowed me to learn so much more about myself, but the course has also opened so many new doors for me. Since completing the course I have already built two websites for freelance clients!

Read More unbeatable (I've been addicted to smoothie bowls for breakfast since then), and the extra activities came perfect to help our brains loosen up after a day of full-on learning. Tina and her team had the vision of making us feel the best so we could absorb as much as possible in the classes. And guys, did that happen! We were taken care of like queens and kings. And the learning atmosphere was just intense (in the best way possible)!

I had decided to re-focus my career to graphic design and website creation (which I always loved), so it could suit my OLN (Only Laptop Needed) nomadic lifestyle. IOC's Bootcamp provided me not only with knowledge about coding, but also it empowered me with the confidence to start freelancing and with the resources to keep expanding my knowledge and multiplying my possibilities as a designer and developer. It's only been 2 and a half months since I attended IOC's bootcamp, and I've already launched my freelancing business and am working with 3 clients. And this is just the start.

If I they run the Advanced version of the Web Dev Bootcamp, I'd be the first one to sign in!

Set in beautiful Bali... in a beautiful villa... catered food (thank you for catering wonderful vegan meals).. a fridge full of assorted beverages... it was the perfect environment for learning to code. If I had tried to learn this back in Sydney, amongst full time work and life in general ... I don't think I would have come away with the passion and knowledge that I have now for code. Tina, Emile and the IOC team are the most supportive, patient and inspiring people and mentors. You will surprise yourself with how much you can learn in 10 days! A true self esteem booster! :)

IOC opened my eyes to the world of well, being able to work and travel the world. I went there not knowing exactly what I was doing and left inspired with a whole new business perspective and a sleek new agency website to match.
I ended up living in Bali... Read More for 9 months after attending the course, and have been able to support myself through the business I began to build while attending the retreat.
I continue to enjoy the friendship I made and am thankful for the ongoing support of mentors, long after the course itself has ended.

The venue, course structure, content, mentors, follow up support and my fellow classmates all exceeded my expectations.

I built a site in 10-days that I'm now using to run a new business stream, and am about to start building another for a client's business. I've also learnt valuable skills about the fundamentals (and some advanced techniques) in HTML, CSS and JavaScript that I've been able to apply daily in other web work and troubleshooting etc on existing sites.

It was genuinely the best investment I've ever made in my professional development, and in myself. I will be forever grateful to Tina and her team.
