At Codaisseur there are a lot of hidden costs, fake advertising, and promises. Read More They are always willing to help, motivate you and during the entire course, they gave me the feeling that they wanted me to succeed. Unfortunately, the teachers are constantly understaffed, you can notice that they are overwhelmed by the workload and they are unable to answer everyone's questions due to understaffing and a lack of time. After passing the final assignment there is a week called 'Career Accelerator' which was, to put it nicely, a joke. The quality was poor, the career advisor was unorganised and didn't seem to care if you'd get a job or not. During the interview process, it was promised that Codaisseur would introduce you to their partners. In the end, not one student has been introduced to their so-called 'partners'. There is also NO job guarantee at all. YOU are the one who has to apply for the jobs, Codaisseur doesn't do anything to help you. You have a weekly call with their staff, but it's more to check if you're doing what they want you to do. They don't give advice (besides things like 'contact people on Linkedin', something every student does from day one...). We were promised job leads, the closest to those 'job leads' was that, after a few weeks of no serious job prospects, people were recommended by Codaisseur to take an (underpaid) internship. Again, there is no job guarantee whatsoever. There is a staggering amount of students that graduated months ago, do everything in their power to get a job, but are still unemployed. Codaisseur doesn't seem to do anything to help them besides the 'weekly calls'. The course is fast-paced and extremely stressful. People dropped out of the course due to breakdowns from stress. These people still had to pay the whole fee of €10.802. There are hidden costs. Codaisseur claims that you only pay the €800 admission fee and that the rest (€10.802) will be paid by your future employer. This is a lie. YOU are the one who pays the €10.802. Maybe your employer pays it directly to Codaisseur, but it will be subtracted from your salary, so in the end, you pay the €298 per month yourself, for 29 months. Another rather strange thing: they let the students do their sales talk with potential employers. The students have to tell them about Codaisseur, they have to tell them about the 11K debt that they have (and that the company will have to pay, if they hire them), they have to tell the company about becoming a partner of Codaisseur. Lots of students decide to never say anything about the fee to their potential employers because often employers will turn you down, simply because they don't want to hire a junior (who still needs a lot of training by their future employer) with a fee obligation of €10.802. During Codaisseur you have the feeling that you're supported and valued, but as soon as you graduate the course, the focus switches to the new students that just started their course. Another thing: Codaisseur claims that they are the #1 Coding Academy of the Netherlands. This does not mean that they are the best in The Netherlands, it just means that they are the first.

I've graduated from full stack developer course. It's a super intense very fast pace course so be ready to study hard for 11 weeks. Teachers are great and very supporting. Following the completion of the course they provide career support where you meet... Read More with a career advisor once a week (if you need more you can always schedule extra meetings/calls) and get support for your job search and interviews. They have the most updated curriculum, I managed to land a job one month after graduation.

It was such a challenging and satisfying course. I felt like I was learning relevant and in-demand skills every day and knew even as a non-EU national that I was not going to have any problem finding a job after the course (and I did find a job). I have recently graduated from the Codaisseur 11 week program and I am so sad for it to be over! I learned more than I could ever imagine and met some really amazing people. The staff at Codaisseur are incredibly talented and so dedicated to helping you... Read More learn all the skills you need to go out and get your first job as a junior, even during these hard times having to switch to a fully remote environment. We learned all of the most up to date tech skills, (the curriculum is constantly evolving as per the market) and we also participated in group projects, practice interviews, CV writing workshops etc.

Advice I would give to future students is to make sure you are adequately prepared. Codaisseur recommend to complete the 30hrs of Free Code Camp beginner Javascript, but I think this really is the bare minimum & you will be on your toes during the academy. I prepared a lot more than this because I was lucky enough to have some free time between my job and beginning the course, for me this really paid off and ensured that the academy was not a stressful experience.

If you want to start a career in web development than I cannot recommend Codaisseur highly enough! Go for it!!!

Fresh out of a research master's program from UvA, I did my research picking the right bootcamp for myself. I considered the price, teacher's quality, location, curriculum, and more. Finally, I picked Codaisseur for a few reasons:

1. It is hard. Only 1/3... Read More of applicants get in and around 2/3 of candidates graduate. This ensures the classmates are smart and motivated people. And I like a challenge.

2. The teachers are experienced coders who have been rolling in the industry for years and know what they are talking about. They know coding and they also know how to teach coding. One JavaScript teacher, for example, studied education at UvA, and he was one of the best teachers I have had.

3. The business model. The way Codaisseur works is different from any other average bootcamp. Typically bootcamps charge around 6000 euros up front and they push you out into the market like new born babies. Codaisseur charges only 800 euros and then the next 11k is billed over 2 years in your future employment. So if you don't graduate and do well, they don't get the money. A classic quid pro quo. This makes the teachers really care about your progress and employability (they already do because they are nice people).

I wanted to switch careers and this was the best decision I've ever made. I got an offer after 1 month of job searching.

I am happy that I took the fullstack web dev. bootcamp at codaisseur as it allowed me to change my career, I learned a lot and made some great connections there. I would do it again, but here are some cons you want to consider before doing it:
* job support:... Read More don't get fooled by info on codaisseur website - only you will be responsible for finding a job - they will give you a good training on how to find a job but will not help you. If you don't try hard enough codaisseur will send you an invoice for 11K. What does "not hard enough" mean is based on codaisseur's own idea - there are no clear requirements and no rules, so you might expect an invoice at any time.
* hidden costs - employers are not always willing to pay the 11K fee to codaisseur, they consider it way too high for a 3-month course. Some employers will not even consider your application because of the fee obligation.
* unclear final assignment evaluation - there is no single standard for evaluation - some students have to complete 100% features to pass, others - 50%. It seems that this evaluation is not based on your skills but on whether the examiner likes you or not. Nobody really knows.
* if you're over 40 years old - you will have trouble getting in and graduating - ageism in IT exists and C. contributes to it a lot!
* the course program is very good, but C. is constantly understaffed and often teachers have no time to help you and answer all your questions. Therefore, all in all, the course is overpriced.

First time I read about Codaisseur I got sure that was the place to go for a 11 weeks bootcamp that could assist me with finding a job as a Junior Developer in Amsterdam. If you are the type of person who enjoys technology, knows the fundamentals of programming... Read More and the very basics of what web development and a computer language is. Although everyone is apt to learn how to code and get a serious job with it. It is totally advisable to have a good background on it. Make sure you know and have experience coding JavaScript before that, take your time, apply for an interview at Codaissuer and be prepared for a thrilling, challenging, full-time and hard core experience. During the first weeks I was literally dreaming on JavaScript. I love Codaisseur's vibe and the people there really want to help you all the time. It feels like a real community and you will meet great people willing to learn how to code and be a junior developer after 11 weeks just like you. Codaisseur is a cosmopolitan environment and fun environment to learn how to code as a full stack developer, have a proper GitHub portfolio and find a job.
