I attended the Data Science & Big Data Diploma from WCD. It helped me learn new concepts in Data Science, Big Data and even an introduction to Deep Learning. More importantly, they give you a chance to work with real world projects with interesting clients... Read More and present insights. The curriculum is quite comprehensive and well designed. The group assignments, industry guest lectures and discussions were also fun to be a part of.

Even though after few weeks of the course, we had to move the classes online due to the pandemic, they ensured that the learners still have an ongoing engagement and have all the necessary tools and people in place to help with the learning experience. Everyone in their team is extremely helpful, including the lecturers and teaching assistants. They try to guide you as much as possible and give enough personal attention. Only thing that is required of the student is to put in their best effort in the process of learning - be curious (it's a data ''science'' program), follow their instructions, work on your assignments, projects and ask questions.

My transition to the data analytics field was a success, and soon I will be working for one of the largest retailers in Canada and using the knowledge and skills I gained from this program to power its media and digital marketing businesses.

My Experience Highlight
The curriculum is intense yet very practical by design. For someone like me that don’t have any coding experience in the past, it is a bit challenging in the beginning. You need to spend extra time on the course materials, and then you would gradually adapt and catch the rhythm.

Aside from the content, the entire staff demonstrates very high levels of passion and professionalism. They are all very approachable, respectful and very well-educated themselves. They took a step further and learn each student’s personality and learning style and what makes them tick.

Career Service
In my opinion, this program comes with the best career service/job assistance in the market. One thing that I want to emphasize is that not only it has the best variety of services such as resume makeover, standard & technical interview preparation, job hunting tips but also the length of these services available to the students.

Most of these services are continuous and made available to the students after they complete the program. I felt strong and confident going through interviews with the support and help from WeCloudData’s staff and community members.

The pre-bootcamp materials helped me get familiar with the essential SQL and Python coding skills and speeded up the learning curve during the bootcamp. I highly recommend whoever wants to join the bootcamp to get prepared, WeCloudData does a great job in providing the necessary materials. During the bootcamp, the course work is very intensive. Although I already have coding experience and mathematical background, I still need to spend at least 10 hours a day to study and finish homework and projects. However, the instructors and teaching assistants are doing their best to ensure everyone can get the most out of the courses. During the bootcamp, I finished two client projects and several portfolio projects to showcase my skills. It offers a selection of projects that students have a chance to complete during the bootcamp. These projects not only allow students to apply newly learned coding techniques but also push them to solve “real-life” problems and to create industry-specific practical solutions. I have computer science and stats background and wanted to get more hands-on with modern data science tools. The program covers every step for an end to end ML project, from ETL, data cleaning, to implementing model and model deployment. There is also... Read More a big data chapter for us to get a basic understanding of how AWS and Spark works, which means if you are interested in coding, you are capable of applying both Data Engineer and Data Scientist.

Unlike university lectures, the program was highly practical and we also worked on various client projects where we had a chance to work with real-life data and applied our skills to solve a real-world problem, which helped us a lot in applying for jobs. After lectures finished, there was also an interview prep session to enhance your interview skills and make your resume more competitive.

Overall, the Bootcamp was busy but enriched. Good value for the money.

I have a Quant background but unified analytics which is the demand of the day is more than just being good in stats and knowing python. You must be able to have an applied understanding of the end to end machine learning process from Etl to deployment... Read More and monitoring. You must also be familiar with scalable tools such as databricks and be well versed in building end to end ML pipelines on the cloud eg azure and aws. The program brings data science and engineering together nicely. You are exposed to both.

It is very practical and the client projects during the boot camp really help. The network is also very good when it comes to being reffered.

Obviously in a boot camp you need to make the effort to stay ahead else it becomes hard to catch up. I like the personal attention you get from the chief instructor and his team. They push their students into the industry. It is a win win relationship.

From my 2019 summer batch almost everyone got a job already within the field be it data science or engineering.
