I took the online full-time course, 10 weeks total. I'll start with the 2 cons because they're short but important to know. 1) The course is INTENSE. Yes, you can do it even if you're new to tech. But know that it will be a LOT of work, and you're going... Read More to have to be PROACTIVE. Ask questions, get clarification, go back and review the recorded lesson, take notes every time, etc. 2) You get out of it what you put into it. The pros are great. Let me start with specifying that my instructors were Terrell and Ryan, so my experience is based on their teaching style. The course is intense, yes, but these guys were with us every step of the way. Our class was about 10 people, everyone with different experience levels and learning styles. These instructors take time to answer questions, they even take pauses at times to MAKE SURE everyone's good. It's not just blah blah follow along take notes quietly, it's an interactive environment where you can share your screen to show what you've got going on and Terrell and Ryan will walk you through any questions or issues you're having so you can keep up. I could rave about the actual course forever, but there's more, so I'll stop here and say that the course itself is great because it teaches you how to LEARN tech. There is not enough time to become a pro at coding, but they give you the tools you need to keep up with the industry and then you go forward and continue your education and experience. The other part is the job search process. I just graduated the course and we are on our first week after graduation. We are all tired from working on our final projects but a good chunk of us are eager to network and find our job now. Coding Temple has a whole process for that too! They have a team of people dedicated to helping you prepare for interviews, both on the technical side and the networking side of the process. You have weekly workshops/meetings, you have a pro ex recruiter available to answer questions, and they have a whole process for you to follow when you're sitting there after graduation thinking to yourself, "okay what now??" They got you.

This program helped me go from zero coding ability/knowledge at the beginning of 2022 to having a solid grasp of the fundamentals needed to create functional web applications from scratch (frontend to backend), in addition to data base and data analysis... Read More competency. I was amazed at how much content we covered in just 10 weeks, and that we were able to do so thoroughly and holistically. If you are ready and willing to give yourself 100% to a bootcamp this course will deliver for you. Everything they teach and assign is doable so long as you bring your best effort and stay on top of assignments (a fast but reasonable pace). Highly recommended for anyone wanting to get into tech but not knowing where to start!

I had a great experience at Coding Temple! My instructor was Nate Welter and he did an amazing job at adjusting the pace of the course so that everybody had a working understanding of the material. There really was no question he couldn't answer on the... Read More spot, and if by chance something did come up, he was very resourceful and had an answer nearly immediately (which is probably the greatest asset there is for a programmer). Our TA was also very helpful and would stay late after class on an individual basis if anyone felt they were falling behind (spoiler- they wouldn't be falling behind for long). I can't personally attest to the abilities of the other instructors, but I know they're a tight knit group, and I've heard nothing but good things from students of their classes. Algo Night is offered every week to brush up on skills, and the support system for post-graduates is relentless, you will never feel left behind. If you're looking for a bootcamp to get yourself a full-time engineering job or just want a better understanding of computer systems for your current placement, look no further.

After spending 3.5+ years in financial client service, I was ready to try a something new. Thanks to Coding Temple for providing the perfect opportunity to learn to code and completely rebrand myself. Coding Temple provides boot camp students with fantastic... My instructor Terrell McKinney did a great job going through a comprehensive curriculum with us and my TAs Ryan Rhoades and John Loveland were a blast to work with. There are also evening and weekend TAs to make sure you are always able to get help when you need it. We cover lots of technologies, but just to name a few, GitHub, Python, SQL, RESTful APIs, Flask, TypeScript React, JavaScript, Numerical Python, Python Pandas, etc. After the completion of the ten week program, students who complete the course with sufficient proficiency (plenty of support to achieve this if you simply commit to it!) are presented with a truly impressive array of job-seeking tools, including professional mock interviews through Skilled Inc and a comprehensive job board with Huntr. Plenty of guest speakers from all over the industry are invited in and they are truly inspiring and helpful for the beginning of a software engineer's journey. I finished in mid-December 2020 and now I am neck deep in the job search. With these tools at my disposal I feel confident that I will be able to embark upon a fulfilling career in software engineering. Before signing up, please note that the program requires a lot of commitment. In my case, I was not working at all, not even part time, during the boot camp. That part can potentially be tricky. My honest advice is that if you need to work at least part time, do not enroll for the full time course. Just do a part time course. Students with unshakeable commitments outside of the boot camp seemed to really struggle for it. Those with the most commitment made the most progress and seem to be the most likely to succeed in coding in general.

I went into the program knowing that I wanted to perform data analysis, with some experience performing statistical analysis in an academic setting, but completely uninitiated in computer programming. If you're familiar with programming languages you might want more depth, but for a newbie it was a perfect introduction and I'm now confident in my ability to go deeper on my own time. Pros: I was introduced to a broad swath of technologies. This not only helped me narrow down my interests (data engineering), but it also made me feel more comfortable talking about programming in social and professional settings. I also appreciate the broad introduction because I developed skills I would have otherwise overlooked. Instructors were knowledgeable and approachable. I was surprised that I made great connections with my peers/classmates. Cons: Hard to call it a con, but if you are unprepared for the pace it can be detrimental: the program moves very quickly, it's very easy to fall behind and feel overwhelmed if you don't check in with yourself and others OFTEN.

Thankfully, I was dedicated and determined and that is key here. You must be ready to put your social life aside and really put in your time. Coding Temple was a wonderful experience for me. Nicole was very fun and pleasant to work w/ for onboarding and mid-course reviews. My instructor (Derek) and TA (Lucas) are incredible at their jobs. They were very thorough and always available to help, if we got lost or it didn't click right away. I aim to be at their level someday.. Marlene (Alumni Director/ Career Coach) knows everything there is to know about resume-building and interviewing. She's an amazing support/resource to have in this process of job hunting. I would highly recommend Coding Temple if you're looking to make the jump into a tech role. They have everything you need and the support to get you through the process. Two thumbs up from me!

After spending a solid two weeks weeks researching various boot camps I thought I had it whittled down to the very best ones--Springboard, Coding Temple, Hack Reactor, and some of the college led ones (Georgia Tech's and MIT's specifically). Then....... Read More I spoke with Ryan at Coding Temple. His knowledge, insight, no-pressure conversation, and just the ease with which I could talk to him about my goals, really set Coding Temple apart. I'm cautious, especially when it comes to spending more money than I ever have in my life on an educational service (aside from college), so I still pursued conversations at the other schools to make sure I wasn't being lazy or short sighted. Man, oh man, am I glad I found Coding Temple. I spoke with some of Ryan's teammates: Marlene and Marcus. They were high quality people as well. I won't write anything negative about the other schools, just make sure you speak with someone at Coding Temple before you make a decision. The live lectures with the same group of students, small class sizes, and feeling I had speaking with the members of Coding Temple led to me picking them. I took a month to prepare for the cohort. During this time I read the entire Python book they recommended, and did the same with the HTML book. A student in the school's Slack recommended CodeCademy for extra preparation. I'm glad he did, as it enabled me to go deeper with the teachers once the cohort started (I took the basic and intermediate CSS courses on CodeCademy before the cohort began). I had the pleasure of working with Terrell and Ryan, they were quite the teaching duo. It was fun, it was challenging, and I learned WAY more than I would have on my own, even if all I did during the 10 weeks was study. That's the point of a boot camp. It was neat to watch other students come in with different levels of knowledge. No matter where someone started, they ended the program with a much greater knowledge than when we began. I'd like to make special shout out to Nicole and Marlene. Nicole hosts various games during the program and she's around to talk when times get stressful. It's nice to know she's there. One of my favorite things during the cohort were the guest speaking events Nicole sets up. I LOVE to ask questions and it was a real opportunity to get a much deeper understanding into the various aspects of the industry and what the day to day work is like for people in different roles, at different skill levels, and in different industries. And now, Marlene. She's a driving force behind the value proposition of the Coding Temple program. No other program that I found offered the kind of job support that Coding Temple does with Marlene. You can feel it, and if you're careful in the questions you ask when deciding on a school, you can deduce the way other schools operate. At the end of the day I think that's important to remember. These are all businesses--their goal is to make money. Pick carefully, but do pick. You can't go wrong with Coding Temple. They're an excellent group of people, very knowledgeable, and the follow up job support is real. It's not just you being in a pool of Alumni on Slack and now it's up to you to figure it out or attend group webinars. You'll actually get someone to talk to for the long term with Coding Temple. I'm convinced I've made some life long friends during my time at Coding Temple. I'll always look at the family that helped train me fondly.
