This approach helped translate technical concepts into business language and prepared me for real-world scenarios. The integration of IT and business management, along with dedicated mentorship and practical case studies, made the learning applicable across various industries. Additionally, the support from my Program Manager and the Great Learning team was invaluable in ensuring a smooth course experience. Based on reading some older comments on reddit and other places, I was hesitant (folk highlighting admin issues, unsolicited phone calls, forced feedback, etc.) but I liked the look of the curriculum and the MIT name behind it, so I went ahead and have... Read More just completed the 12 week course.

My experience was overwhelmingly positive. There was some annoyance at the beginning while getting enrolled (I don't like phone calls) but once the program kicked in, I found it really good. It took me a little while to understand the roles involved and get into the rhythm.
- The MIT professors deliver the theory during the week. I watched the recordings in the evenings.
- A Great Learning mentor then facilitates the more practical work on the weekend. Attendance via Zoom is mandatory.
- A Great Learning program coordinator deals with all the session coordination, admin, etc.

I found the content delivered by the professors top notch, although a lot went over my head. I wish I had more background in stats. What I most appreciated, though, was the quality of our group's mentor, who did an excellent job bridging from the theory into the practical python notebook work. He has deep industry experience and kept things very real. I have a new level of respect of data scientists.

The coordinators have a thankless job and I feel they did it well, dealing with a lot of variables and keeping us all on track.

One real annoyance: After a mandatory session, their learning portal would not let me access any material unless I rated the session. I understand the value of feedback but locking me out until I do is a horrible user experience. Their portal was upgraded to a new release during our course and I feel that a lot of the negative comments I previously read have been addressed. It can still be hard to navigate but that's partly because there's a ton of great material provided with each module.

I am very happy I decided to pursue this course and highly recommend it.

I initially heard of this class on social media, and immediately jumped on applying. Given the career I am pursuing, I felt it aligned well with my goals and ambitions. There is an interview process (single interview with a short follow-up) and once you... Read More finish, you choose a cohort. The cohorts are very small. If you need to, you may be able to start the cohort after the soonest, but I'm not sure that you're able to beyond that. Once you begin your cohort, there is pre-work that helps get you warmed up for the course, as well as a few additional relevant complimentary courses. These are all optional and work at your own pace courses. Once you begin the main courses, there are both optional and mandatory class sessions. There are plenty of projects to complete along the way that help you to understand the concepts better. On to the review portion:

The instructors and mentors are very knowledgeable on each topic that they cover. If there are questions at any point during the meetings, they don't hesitate to clear up any questions, concerns, convolutions (no pun intended), or confusions anybody might have. They explain everything more in depth if necessary and verify whether you understand or not. They may ask you to specify what you need to know if their initial explanation doesn't suffice, but they will answer your questions nonetheless, and in depth. At the end of this class, there is a final project of three parts.

There is one advisor that you will communicate with, and in my experience, mine was very responsive and again, answered any questions I had. There were some that he could not answer, and subsequently pointed me to the correct location and person.

Overall, this class was both challenging and informative. I will likely take more courses, but in due time.

Their online learning management system, Olympus, is extremely effective and very user-friendly, making the experience of online learning seamless, practical, and enjoyable.

Some aspects I loved about this program include its thorough training, which includes various practice case studies and hands-on projects and the fact that all classes and sessions are recorded, so students can easily revisit the material at their convenience, allowing for a more personalized learning pace.

We also had the privilege of working with an amazing Program Manager and an incredibly supportive Academic Team who were always there to help us with any questions or concerns about our studies.

This program has transformed my life, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to grow as a Data Science professional!
