It was small which made it easier for me to ask questions and connect with other students. My instructor was not only very knowledgeable, he was willing to help me anytime I asked. One of my favorite parts about this program, was being able to network, attend events and learn more about the industry. I walked in knowing no one, but left with an abundance of friends, mentors and a sense of community.

I jumped into the Tech Talent South Code Immersion program on a whim after a friend mentioned it to me a few days before it started. I had some free time and was already learning web development on my own and through a few classes at the local university,... Read More so I figured this would be another great way to learn. I expected to learn a few programming languages and maybe some frameworks related to web development, but in reality we learned bits and pieces of the entire web stack, encompassing subjects such as the command line, version control with Git, Test Driven Development, deploying to Heroku, RESTful API's, the MVC pattern, how servers work, package managers, text editors, and so much more. After completing this program I feel confident that my path to a career in web development is on the right track, and I honestly don't know how I would've been able to learn so much in such a short time on my own. Some of my favorite parts about the program were the small class sizes, individual attention from instructors, interesting and challenging projects after every meeting, and the focus on learning a little bit of everything instead of just mastering one tiny area of the web stack. If you're looking to get into web development, you've gotta try one of these programs, they are really a cut above most online courses, books, blogs, etc...

This was a great experience for me. Not only was I surrounded by others who had an equal or greater desire to code, but they were also asking thought-provoking questions and treating this Bootcamp seriously– while still having fun. The first few weeks... Read More were filled with learning the basics. We went over jQuery, HTML and CSS. Each language has their own flavor and distinct look and feel. However, you can take what you learn from one language to another. There are subtle distinctions that make it easy to jump around languages. It is intimidating at first glance but once our instructor, Chris, went into explaining each language it was like a very cool puzzle. The homework forced us to focus in on where we were having trouble and overcome confusions and missteps. We created our own mock Twitter, a weather app, and more.

I attended the Startup Primer class in Charlotte NC. I had previously launched a startup company back... Read More in 2009 I was intrigued by the thought of expanding my knowledge base around what it takes to launch a successful business. This class definitely blew me away! I learned about everything from legal, marketing, HR, sales and guidelines around what to look for in a launch area to be successful. I learned things that have become assets not only in entrepreneurial projects but in my career within corporate America.

So I am a full-time employee and my part-time boot camp experience at Tech Talent South was GREAT! As you apply ask about their scholarships and apply for them! Read More There was a lot to take in at first but it really depends on If you are willing to dedicate the time and utilize your resources to study the material before and after class. The material is plentiful, however It's truly what you make it if you want to thrive in coding. I believe the part-time classes are just as impacting as being in a full-time course . The coding classes are twice a week for 3 hours, which gives you enough time to challenge yourself outside of class whether its front-end or back-end. Attending the part-time classes gave me hands-on experience and exposure to endless coding possibilities. TTS is a great school to start in but It's up to you to keep yourself updated or either involved, network and always ask questions to stay connected.

Read More in Charlotte), guidance, etc. The key is finding a way to take advantage of those resources. As the saying goes, you get out if it what you put into it. It's not enough to show up. You must arrive with a willingness to learn, and if you don't ask questions, don't reach out people, don't put the time in, don't pursue connections, then you won't see much by way of results. Second, TTS cares about their content, and from what I've seen they take great effort to ensure that the content they teach is up-to-date with current practice. Finally, TTS is cost-effective (comparatively speaking) and they have great payment plans. They'll work with you because they care about you and want you to succeed.

I enjoyed the experience and recommend TTS. I will conclude with this: it was difficult to balance the full-time course in addition to two jobs. I secured a good developer job midway through the course, so in the end it didn't matter. But I strongly suggest that you try to lighten your schedule if you want to take the full-time immersion course. So check out TTS. It was worth it for me and many others, and it will be worth it for you if you come in with the right attitude.

I took the part-time course in the beginning of 2017. This was a really great option for full-time working adults. Classes are twice a week from 6-9. This course was a great way to introduce me to the basic overview of front-end and back-end development.... Read More It's pretty fast-paced and definitely challenging, so I can't stress enough how much practice you need to do to really get the most out of it. By the last week of class I had an interview lined up from a job posting I found through TTS! This course definitely gave me a good foundation to build on!

I work at an early stage technology company and I'm responsible for managing our company's website and yet previous to... Read More this course I didn't know much more than basic html and css syntax.

Nonetheless, after completing this course I feel much more comfortable developing my own style sheets and using basic javascript to make tweaks on our website. With what I learned, I also had the ability to develop the entire html file for customized automated emails.

This is a part-time course, class meets for 3 hours once a week for 8 weeks. It's important to go into this class with the expectations that the entire curriculum will serve as a foundation for learning html and css and is by no way an exhaustive experience. TTS offers entire courses in just JavaScript so the 3 hours that are included in this course is enough to make it less scary. All in all, what you get out of this course is directly correlated with how much you're willing to put in. But there are awesome instructors that will stack the odds of success in your favor.

Lastly, the benefits of taking a TTS course extend beyond the course itself. Now considered a TTS Alum, I have access to awesome events that happen throughout Charlotte, a network of talented individuals more than willing to offer advice, and exclusive access to job opportunities. And yes, even though this is a part-time course, the TTS team shares freelance website gigs that you will be qualified to do once completing the course.

You drown in the environment and work until something starts to make sense. The instructors are good. Knowledgeable. The class is not too full but it's hard to get in class help as it slows down the pace. Tey to schedule it before class or after. I recommend.
