The course in general left me fulfilled. The projects were interesting, challenging and helped me to build the necessary skills for a UX role. Although the overall experience was satisfying I was a bit put off when I saw that the videos for the course were a bit old and weren't updated to more recent times. I also missed good examples for desktop. Even though you can choose desktop or mobile path (or both), the latest modules focus on mobile way too much and if you choose the desktop path you will feel a bit lost without proper examples, or that's how I felt at least. But even with those 'negative' aspects, it's a highly recommended course if you've been wondering for a while about getting into UX.

Overall it was a really good experience, it was exactly what I needed at that time in my career and after 4 months from starting the course, I got a cool new job as Senior UX Consultant in a big company. I can say it was one of my best choices lately... Read More and for me, it was very helpful, insightful, and a self-confidence boost. The curriculum is very well and clearly structured, covering almost all major aspects of the entire UXD process, giving you a very high-level overview but also explaining many details. The videos are chunked enough to be digestible and on spot, with good examples from real-life projects and problems. The narrator (Institute's CEO) has very good explanation skills, with no Irish accent at all, so no problem in understanding all the words. :) The project I worked on was very useful also, involved enough hard work, exiting from my comfort zone, but I am extremely happy with the outcome and I can't wait to share it in my portfolio! The Slack community is also very helpful, I gained a lot of insights, feedback, and resources from it, and also the mentors were very helpful and responsive. The rhythm was also self-paced within a maximum of 1 year, so I finished the lessons and the final project in 7 months. Then, in 1 month I passed also the final exam which was a very serious and rigorous one, so I am very happy with it. The price-value balance is definitely a great one! Good job and I highly recommend this course.

I would recommend this course to anyone interested in a career in UX. Most courses that enable you to change direction in your career or significantly progress require vast amounts of time and money. Read More All the important topics were covered, the videos were clear and easy to understand, and I feel that I now have a very good understanding of UX, related processes, etc. I found this a great way to learn in my own time, on my own terms, with enough support that I never felt stuck. Read More available and willing to discuss any queries in-depth, if necessary. - The videos and coursework was professional and all content was produced to a very high standard. - Colman (the founder and main presenter) was a great teacher and was professional, captivating and compelling. His lessons broke down highly detailed UX ideas into "bite-sized", easy to grasp segments - without patronising or over-simplifying. A perfect introduction to a barrage of new ideas and theories for a fresh, unlearned but eager, budding UX designer. Cons - Not so much theory on the UI design front. This is mainly left to the student to explore in their own time, even though UI is explained as an important sub-category of the User Experience Design umbrella. - More post-graduation alumni programming would help, as would a stronger presence of career guidance, post-graduation. - More guidance on the exam would help, too. The questions were surprisingly broad, but we had simply been told "everything in the exam will have been mentioned in the course"... this was not false, but it did lead to a narrower vision of what we may expect for the exam. Perhaps explain that although all aspects of the exam will have been taught on the course, we may need to expect these ideas to be presented in much broader scenarios in the exam.

I am a business analyst that works in IT, I wanted to skill up in UX design to be able to support future projects and also just demonstrate that corporate business systems can be nice to use too.... I am also just really interested in the area in general!... Read More I feel this course is great for anyone in the industry already or not. The videos are easy to follow and available via self-service along with guided docs to support note taking. The project work is on app types you will have experience of already so it's easy to pick up. Live webinars run by industry experts were great! They review project work and it really helps. What made this course great for me was the student support. I suffered with low morale and motivation due to Covid and fell behind and with support from the tutors I picked it back up, completed my project work and exam and passed! There is a IM channel where you can connect with students and tutors as well as past students which is super useful. I feel like I've personally learnt a lot and can easily transfer the skills to my current workplace. Can't fault it unfortunately!

The ability to work at your own pace was amazing. They give you a ton of help and resources to get you a job. It wasnt just about UX design it was how to get a job in UX. Their career coaches and mock interviews, and resume help was a huge game changer.... Read More Be aware that the timeline to finish earlier than 9months may be a little off. Some of the projects at the end of the course take longer than I anticipated and pushed my graduation/completion back 1month. So plan extra time at the end for that.
